I would not reuse those water pipe fittings, use only hyd fittings.

 I didn't realize those were water pipe fittings. Thankfully, my new valve that I ordered has orb ports.

Older equipment w/ "pipe fittings" usually ended up w/ black pipe. It was quick and easy for owners. Not good, but they did it. For "low" pressure open center systems....it worked for them. It was easier, faster and cheaper to go to the hardware and get black pipe then go to the dealer and buy hydraulic fittings (that were pipe thread). LOL, some dealers stocked black pipe and would sell that....

Well I'm trying as much as I can to stay away from pipe fittings. It's ORB to JIC on my new valve, and my QC's have 1/2" pipe female, which I will adapt to JIC.

JIC14 fittings seem very rare. Having a hard time to find a replacement. Any ideas?

Does Surplus Center or that other hydraulic link stick have it? If not, a local hydraulic store should be able to get what you need. Don't go to an equipment dealer, but someone store that deals w/ hydraulics. We have one in my town....you an get just about anything there.

I picked up my parts, and got to work this weekend. Boxed.jpgPre assembly.jpg
Left Cover, Float section, 4-way 3-pos section, Right cover w/PB, Adjustable Relief, PB sleeve and Handles.
My budget allowed for only 2 work sections (for now).

Assembly was quite basic.Assebled1.jpgAssembled2.jpg

Then came the masking, Masked1.jpgMasked2.jpg

followed by painting MF Industrial yellow.Painted1.jpgPainted2.jpgPainted3.jpg

Next weekend I shall install this baby on the tractor.

Did you torque the connecting rods as they directed?

Do not tighten the valve to the frame to tight.

The specified torque seemed excessive, Stud Torque.PNG

I torqued the studs at 25 ft lbs, figured I could always tighten a bit more if I ran into problems.

I will tighten about the same when I attach the valve to the tractor.
