Replacement Filters Question

Does anyone know or have access to a cross reference for the oil and air filter specs, or maybe a cross reference I could pick up at autozone or pep boys or napa, so I could find a closer supplier for oil and air filters for my PT-425. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I have the newer model(late 2004) with the Robin EH72 engine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I pulled the air filter out yesterday to knock some of the dust and dirt out of it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I bent it! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Now I can't use my PT until I can get another air filter for it. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I was looking forward to doing several things this weekend. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I went to the Robin sevice dealer. He was very helpful, but cannot get the filters from Robin until late next week. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I don't have a Robin dealer close by but the local Kohler dealer was able to cross reference for me and provided an air filter for considerably less than what I had previously paid for the Robin product. Good Luck.

So here's a lesson for all new owners... buy these things before you need them. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Very soon after our PT425 arrived I had a spare engine oil filter, air cleaner and some Kohler engine manuals in hand. I also ordered spare mower blades for the finish mower from Power Trac and it came with one spare hydraulic filter. I ordered two more just to be sure. Since I only put about 50-60 hours on it a year, I don't mind paying the extra $$ getting those hydraulic filters from PT. If I put more hours on it I would cross refference it and buy locally. Any time I use one of these consumable items, I immediately replace them in my stock. That way, when I break something by accident(and I've been known to do that more frequently than most folks) I don't have to wait for parts. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I also keep two little adjustable wrenches, a four bit screwdriver, some WD40, a couple of shop rags, a roll of paper towels, my two grease guns, some spare grease, two cans of spray grease, some spare oil, some plastic bags and a bottle of Simple Green in the shed near the PT. That's a pretty good starter maintenance kit. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If you have not already done so, Type in Robin Engines, on their web site pick out the 25 HP engine, when the new page comes up, on the right side you will find you can unload , both the service manual and the parts manual for the EH72. your air cleaner also fits the PT422 the part number is 263-32610-A1 agood small engine/ epair shop usually have ecellent cross reference books, and may even have what you want in stock, don't forget to take the old one with you, or the full dimensions.

I too will be looking for a source to get a spare air filter for my 422...ordered one thru the local mower shop and including shipping it came to $26 OUCH!!

I have the manuals already and had the part number, nobody I talked to could cross reference it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I found a local owner operated small engine shop that is, come to find out, the Robin warranty dealer/workshop in my area. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I called them and they had the filters, I bought 2. I am probably a lot like you, MR, in that aspect. I like to have what I need ahead of time.
