The antique tractor club I belong to hosted a two day show Friday and Saturday. A couple from Indiana had a 9N Ford that was purchased new by the owner's grandfather. The current owner had the tractor completely restored about two years ago. It was completely re-manufactured to company specs. The only change from factory specs was the addition of the split exhaust manifold. Supposed to increase power by 30%, it also gave the engine a great sound.

That's the best looking 9N I've ever seen. Won't see that baby working in the fields anymore.

The pictures don't do it justice, you have to see it in person to fully appreciate the quality work that was done to it. I don't think it left the factory looking this good. The owners haul it around in an enclosed trailer. They run the engine a lot so people can hear how it sounds.

The rear wheel lug patern says its an 8n. Where is the soundguy?

Side mount distributer, splined rear hub, and four speed shifter all say 8N. None of these features are found on a 2N/9N.

Not a 9N. Wrong paint scheme. Wrong lug patterns front/rear. Probably around a '49 8N. Still beautiful.

A picture of my un-restored '49 Red Belly is attached.

I think the owner knows exactly what he has. I probably misunderstood him, lots of people and noise going on. He said it was a '48 so it would have to be an 8N.
