Come on now about the Kubota knockoffs. You trying to get my gander up?

Three different Kubota dealers told me they started carrying Kubota 15 years ago to fill a SCUT void. That's all Kubota had at the table.

I grant you that Japanese manufacturers are good, the quality is mesmerizing. But not one of their tractors has been an original. I am sure you know that.

I still don't understand. Kubota has been making tractors for a VERY long time. As far as I can tell, Kubota has been the one being "knocked off". Kioti used to tell buyers that they were the same as Kubota. Even painted them the same shade.

Maybe you can provide some examples of who, how, what and when Kubota knocked off someone? It would help me understand...

I agree. Kubota didn't fall of the proverbial "turnip truck" yesterday. Here's a little history:

Relax my orange friends! :) I'm sure he meant the Kioti line. My local Kubota dealer always refers to the Kioti line as those "faded orange imitation Kubotas"!

No problem...I didn't take it personally:)

I would have researched and posted as well if someone would have said JD was knocking off some other tractor company. I love contrasting points of view...but I just want the facts...not speculation...unless they specify they are guesstimating or speculating:)

I must say that I am confused by the "off brand" tire label on the Mahindra. Since when is Titan an off brand tire for a tractor? I thought Kubota used them too, but may be mistaken. They had a nice display at the World Ag Expo in Tulare though....

Not sure, my Kubota has Firestone tires, but maybe it's just my particular model.

rback33,

some of the 2wd "00" series Mahindras come over with Indian tires. The rest use Titan or Carlisle.

I didn't get that either. I was under the mistaken impression yet again that Titan was a major player in tractor tires. Silly Moi!

But I'm not taking it personally. :D I'm getting used to being told I drive an off-brand, second rate tractor with off-brand, second rate tires, etc. ;)

Truth is, I laugh about it out loud every time I see what my money would have bought me in either lime green, blue or orange! :D Gotta leave those color machines to those folks with the very TALL green in their pockets! :D

Well I'll be darned.. didn't know that some come from India with tires. I forgot about Carlisle though... don't know much about them other than they are only 4 hrs from me....

Titan is a pretty big player in the farm tire business especially since they bought Goodyear's farm tire division last February for about $100 million.
