we talked back and forth on the phone...I was pretty sure that was what I wanted. They (he) came down and I tried it out on my tractor and my drive. The deal was, he would take it away if I wasn't satisfied, but I was and it's been here ever since. If you are interested, come by and I will demonstrate ...or, you can do a little grading for me (Tom Sawyer?).

Thanks, I may take you up on that offer :)

Top and tilt from day one.:D I usually only use the top link with the road blade. You could use tilt to help out with making a crown, but I have not had to do that yet. I use both the top and the tilt cylinders all the time when I am using either my rear blade or my roll over box blade. I can not imagine what a pain it must be to have to make adjustments manually. My guess is that most people don't make manual adjustments frequently.

Thanks for the information and pics, MtnViewRanch.
I was afraid you were going to say that. Based on your input and several others, two rear remotes are going to be my next tractor project. And you are correct (at least in my case), I never adjust the manual tilt or top link once an implement is attached.

Land Pride makes one of these grading scrapers now. I like the idea of the adjustable scarifiers.

huh, interesting. I wonder if the scarifiers are really useful? How often do you want to scarify your road?

I can't imagine the scarifiers are too useful for this purpose.

We previously carried the Road Boss Grader. It makes a beautiful road and they held up great in the long-term. We've never received a call from any Road Boss customers -- and we always hear when there is any sort of failure or parts required, so in our business, no news is good news. Frankly, it's just a really well-made implement.

Currently, we are selling the new Howse line of Grader blades, which is a similar design to the Road Boss, albeit more affordable. It is newer to the market, so probably hasn't seen much promotion.

Thanks for weighing in Sean. Can you tell us why you switched to Howse? Price point?

Also, how do Howse compare to Roadboss? Lighter duty for cheaper price - fine and a good fit for many of us - or same quality for same price?

Scarifing a road is only necessary when you have serious potholes...;)

Howse makes two different blades -- a lighter DRG model and a heavier HDRG. The DRG weighs in at half the weight per foot as the Road Boss. Accordingly, it costs just a fraction of the price.

The HDRG is still several hundred pounds lighter than it's RB equivalent and only comes in widths 7' and larger (6' is the size most buyers want). The price difference between it and the Road Boss is still very significant.

I do believe the Howse grader is good enough for many users needs.
