Roll-over scraper

This is looking from the back tire of the tractor. It is hard to see the cutting edge. The TnT has the unit rolled as far back as possible. By dragging forward, it does a wonderful job for finish smoothing. Note the rippers still face forward, up out of the way, and the scraper itself faces rearward.

Also note, the rippers can only be used when they are in position on, for ripping. Even with TnT, I cannot roll the unit enough to engage the rippers if the setup is in the forward or backward scraping position.

WOW!!!! what a neat toy...errr tool. Saw every pic you posted and trying to do a google search on it but coming up short. A tool like that sure would be nice attached to my tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Woods has one. It is hard to find in thier web page, and I lost the link I used to have. This particular one is an older Gannon. My B-in-Law has the same thing, but a 6' on a L series Kubota. He has more weight and HP than I, and can sink the rippers and really go.

I see them around, but they are not as prevelant as the run of the mill box scraper.

It can move some serious dirt. Using it and my 5' scraper box, I can definitely move more dirt with the roll-over.

Robert - Great pics & info, thanks! My M5400 has plenty of power (50hp & 4wd), but I'm not sure if I want to go wider than the width of the rear tires (6ft). Available sizes are 6, 6.5, 7 & 8 feet widths.

Anyone have some insight on the width? Pros & cons of going wider? Seems that either sinking the rippers or fairly full box of dirt would be a significant load.

Pro's and cons of width...

A little wider than the back tire width makes sure that you cover tire tracks for finish work.

But, a little wider makes it harder when a combo of loader and scraper work is done. My loader is 4', my tires 4'6", and the scraper just a tad wider... I have had need to rip, and then scoop with the loader. I would scoop with the loader, and then my back tires rode up on one side, making the loader work harder to get level

I do wish my tractor were "square", ie same width loader and scraper, with tires just fitting a little narrower.
