you not toting no load then jesse. you just warmin that hpx up.you should be able to put the trail blazer in the bed and a bottle rack too. some bed extenders might be needed but that would be one tight weldin rig!! man show up on the pipe line with that thing . you got room with the bed it has now with no mods to it other than havin to keep the tailgate down. but man that would be one sweet weldin rig.but to help the steering out try putting the lift kit in the front it helped alot for mine.

I don't envy your discision one bit. I was in the same situation last December but I was trying to decide between the Polaris Ranger 700XP and the Kubota. I wanted something that could work which immediately ruled out the Yamaha Rhino which I had considered. I also wanted something that had a sporty side to it. That kind of ruled out the Kubota. I liked the hydrostatic transmission and the power steering. The fact that it was built like a tank was a pro and con to me. Yes it was built to last, but it was also much heavier than the Ranger which would hurt it's trail ability and possibly make it easier to get stuck. I went with the Ranger and I haven't regretted it yet. Both the Gator and the Kubota are great machines and I am sure that you will be happy with which ever you decide.

I am pondering this decision currently if I stay with a diesel. For all RTV owners how many times do you use the M range in the tranmission? Will H range go up a small slight grade-rolling hill or is it only for high speed travel? The lack of true 4wd makes me like the HPX more but I want a work UTV ie hauling and towing large payloads. Our land is in a working rock quarry so a power dump bed is very important for hauling gravel. Too bad the Ranger is not diesel.

I only put about 30 hours on the RTV this summer during the month and a half I was at my property but I primarily used the medium range and the low range due to the terrain, mostly moderate to steep grades, some on gravel others on grass/dirt trails. I don't think you will have a problem using either mid or high range with the conditions you describe. The HST will reduce speed for a corresponding increase in power on inclines. The following is the max mph per gear range: Low=10 Medium=18 High=25

OK, so for these RTX fans who use thiers on steeper hills, wet grass, and in the snow... what tires did you choose? As you may have guessed, I'm getting close to going orange.. and now down to tire choices. I believe the bota types are "ATX" and "worksite", not really very clear as to the differences or real world performance.

thanks all...

Im sure ATX is the better offroad tire. I think worksite usually means knobby tires.

why not just go with an aftermarket tire and get the worksight tires mounted when you buy the rtv. that way you will have a set of good lawn tires and a set of good hill climbin and mud tires . now if you ask me you know i'm gonna say go with a itp 589 but due to the heavy weight of the rtv i don't think you'll be goin in that deep of mud so i would go with a 25'' or 26'' the only diference from the 25's and the 26's is that the lugs on the 25'' are 3/4 and the lugs on the 26 are 1 1/4''. but being your gonna do some hill climbing trust me that bigger lug is gonna come in handy and you'll be glad you went with the bigger lug tires. they also make a mudlite they grips really well too. a buddy named argokiller will tell you about them.he has some 26'' on his hpx .it's nice to have two sets of tires plus the mudlites and the 589's are 6 ply rated they are tough tires.

I would agree with the tire replacment...
I have the RTV recreational.. and will be replacing the tires soon..
While they are OK if you are dealing with any type of hilly situation I think the more agressive will certainly serve you better.

RTV and HPX video This may be one sided, being it was created by JD. Good point to consider tho~!

Yea, notice how they totally neglect to point out that all you have to do is pull the diff lock lever on the Kubota. They lock the diff on their machine, but not on the Kubota. Sad thing is some people never realize how they skew these things.
