Rust on our new BX2660

If he finds that type of behavior amongst other Kubota dealers, all he will need to to is go to a JD or NH dealer and tell the story. They will hook him up to the best of their abilities and use it as a selling point for years to come.

How true! Around here Kubota's are cheaper comparing like tractors by $1000 to $1500. They had no good answer for why I should spend the extra to go green. This would give them some great selling points! Dealers love it when someone comes over to their side since many tractor guys tend to be brand loyal.

This is sad but true! Its pretty much why I went with my current kubota :eek:dealer.

I think the OP did pretty good for himself?e is not tractor-less. He is minus a tractor which he would not have been satisfied with. Like most people on this site, if it痴 your first purchase or your tenth tractor purchase, there is always something special about getting a new vehicle (tractor in this case). I only have my one and first purchase, and my experience from the early decision making to the delivered product was a great experience and am thoroughly satisfied and impressed with my BX25. Everyone has their own way of gauging things, and to some, it痴 only a tractor and what痴 a bit of rust. I agree with the OP 100%. When I lay down this kind of money, I want to be satisfied, not worried that 2 or 5 years down the road I will have this early rust and leaks shorten the life of my tractor. I think he痴 kind of lucky and in a great place. He gets to do it all over again, with all the knowledge and experience from this bad purchase, I think he値l do quite well.

Dealers blackballing? don稚 think so. Show them the money, they will give you the tractor. I want to see a dealer refuse a sale based on the moral ground or principles! Dealers are the sales vehicles for the manufacturer痴 and I am sure they can ill afford to snub a sale.

For the poster who said this thread is beating a dead horse? Last I saw, there are over 140 pages of threads on this Kubota/buying section alone, why on earth are you reading this thread it if you don稚 care what people have to say? I think this horse still has some life in it.

Dunlapjc, I said best of luck earlier on when you were in the middle of getting this resolved. At this point, enjoy the ride as you go for your well deserved new tractor. :)

I have mixed feelings about posting to this to keep it going but I think new buyers should know that a tractor that's new should not be delivered rusty. Therefore I am posting pictures taken today of my BX2660 that I've had a few months and not washed or waxed it. There is no rust on it anywhere that I can see so eagle eyes look yourselfs and see if you find any. This is how a new tractor should look when delivered except for the dirt. If you get/accept otherwise you've been done "wrong". Glad the OP persued his "injustice" and received justice. Dealer has his tractor back and OP can buy another "actually new one" and all is well in Kubota land. Hope the next purchaser of that tractor gets a hugh discount.

Yep, we have had GREAT service from out local Kubota dealer (Blazeys over in Palmyra). We actually just got a BX2660 from them and the only rust I have seen on it was on the three point hitch balls, everyplace else looked great. Waiting on a brush guard from them (cheaper than a new hood when someone runs into something), but that is something that was decided after we purchased the tractor, so that is our fault not theirs.

P.S. Looks like I just hit 600 posts, I spend too much time on here.

Well, we have so few problems with out Kubotas that about the only time we are in there is to buy new stuff (or to look into buying new stuff) :D

If you ever see a black Volvo station wagon with a grey tailgate parked out front I am probbaly there.

Good to hear Kubota canceled and took it back.

Keep us posted on your new purchase.

When I purchased this tractor, I solicited quotes from 12 dealerships. I went with a balance of the cheapest and the quickest lead time using a local dealer. It has now been proven my **** retentive engineering matrix doesn't reveal everything.

The reason it had the shortest lead time was that it had been out back rusting for a very long time...

Tomorrow I will start the process of calling other dealers. I don't feel I'll be blacklisted, and the quotes I have from before this saga will stand as the benchmark proof... And as others have stated, if I feel that I am being mistreated, there are green tractors that will suit my purposes just fine...

I will let the group know the outcome, but I don't expect any hassles or problems.

Thank you everyone for your input. This forum did help drive results. Both with feedback to me on what was acceptable, as well as my ability to highlight the existance of this discussion to Kubota. I can't quantify how much weight that carried, but a major manufacture has to take notice when a discussion like this becomes a high level hit on the words Kubota and rust...

Thanks again,
-Jonathan

Well Johnthomas, you asked, it looks like the bolts on the seat pivots might have a little rust on the ends, and maybe the end of the piston that works your steering might have a line of rust on it, where it doesn't get pulled inside the cylinder. I looked at mine and it looks the same. Other than that, it looks pretty clean.

Good eye. I had not seen them. I'm taking it back, not.:D
Looks like you need to look at my sunshade install pictures with your eagle eye. Thought I would have had a comment by now but Kubota guys get to focused on the Orange machine to see the world around them.:)
