Rust on our new BX2660

As i suspected there was no paint on the adjustment knob and its already showing a rust spot. Have a look at the attached pic. Obviously Kubota doesnt consider surface rust on this part an issue.

I can't tell for sure from the photo, but that looks like it's a plated part. Perhaps the plating job was poor, or it was knocked off at some point.

I can say for sure that the base is painted in kubota gray. You could clearly see the line where the paint stopped. TO me when i looked it was just bare steel up near the knob.

This tractor was just assembled. Im sure if i went back in a month or two it would be just as rusted as the OP.

I think this thread must die. The point(s) were addressed, though not to the liking of the OP originally, and in the end, the manu stepped in.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Right or wrong, the OP signed off upon delivery, then found items after, which the dealer attempted to fix, but the OP did have the right of refusal.

After the manu stepped in, a little squeaking, and it's done and over with. While I can see the point of a new tractor having some corrosion and damage, the tractor should've been refused rather than simply left and worry about later.

Either way it's a moot point now and beating a dead horse to compare other tractors elsewhere.

Threads die a natural death when they stop generating interest and comments. There still may be some useful information out there..

I can say this, my 3 year old B-7800 still has MUCH less corrosion then the OP's brand new tractor! But, it is stored out of the weather.

Never seen one of these before where someone decides a thread should die then gives their opinion concerning the subject. Guess that would give you the last word!!! Glad your a new member and haven't been deciding on alot of the other ongoing threads that you have no interest in. Hope admin don't give you delete authority/power.

Heartbeats were few and far between and breathing was shallow until you hit it with the paddles! If ya can't help the patient, ya shouldn't be poking him:)

I'm glad to see Kubota stepped up and did the right thing, What are you going to get now?

Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be at full MSRP. Most dealers won't want to discount something they are likely to get back.

Which is why taking advice on matters such as this from people in bars and forum groups is a foolish venture. The ones saying "Tell them mothers to stick it!" have nothing invested and even less to lose.

Why would that be??

Has the OP been placed on some kind of "tractor buyers blacklist" or something?

Last I heard, dealers were in business to sell tractors and make money. If the poster didn't have a legitimate beef, Kubota would not have rolled over for him... Would Kubota rather he now go and buy a John Deere?? I kinda doubt it!
