Oil & Fuel RX7320 Won't Re-start

As for the seat switch issue, that’s why on my NX I did redo the seat mount to defeat it. All other safety switches are still in use.

I might be very interested in this mod :) Plenty of times on level ground I want to just hop off and chuck a rock or something. Would be nice to not have to go thru all the steps, twice, just to dismount for 5 sec.

A few different ways it can be done, the most common way is to unplug the wire connector from the base of the seat and install a jumper wire to complete the circuit.

This is another way a few have done, gives the best of both worlds with the flip of a switch.

On mine I did a different way, on mine the seat cushion is held up off the switch with two springs under the front two bolts holding the seat cushion , I just removed the two long shoulder bolts and replaced with short fully threaded ones that when tightened holds the cushion down against the safety switch.

Your tractors shut off if you come up off the seat?
Really?

That’s crazy.
If mine did that, I would have disabled it as soon as the dealer got it off the trailer.

Yep. Gives you about 1.5 sec...enough to pop up real quick and look at something, but if butt not in seat, it shuts off. Same for starting...in N, parking brake engaged (just foot on brake pedal won't do it), and butt in seat, PTO off - even auto PTO with implement raised. Good in that you can't get too stupid and run yourself over. Bad when you want to hop off to chuck a rock or something when bush hogging. Real bad using pallet forks at times since hard to see tips.

I can live with it. Don't really love it, but not a high enough level of annoyance that I hate the machine or anything. Problem we have is wife is a lot shorter and lighter than I am. So if I have seat suspension adjusted for my weight, tractor is continually cutting off or won't start for her.

Overall...at least for now...it is probably a good thing. My LS would just let you hop off in gear, engine running. If you hit a HST pedal it would cut off, but otherwise you could hop off. And it took a pretty good slope for it to move sitting in gear idling but no HST pedal input. The HST brake just held. The NX - at least how I have HST response set - has virtually 0 HST brake hold. Not sure if I'm even calling that correct thing - "HST brake" - but idling in M and no HST pedal input, it still wants to roll if ground is just very slightly out of level. So it at least has made me aware it is different and my poor habit of hopping off in gear hasn't got me hurt or let tractor roll into something since it nannies me enough to prevent it.

Yeah. That would drive me nuts.
I get the not starting in gear, or with the parking brake off, but shutting off when the driver gets off the seat actually seems like it creates as much potential for accidents as it saves. When working in brush or wooded areas, its pretty common to need to stand up, or even get off the tractor for a second, to assess obstacles or check out the path ahead. Making it inconvenient for the operator to do that seems like an invitation for them to get lazy and "chance it". I like to warm my tractor up before using it, and I use that time to fuel up, grease zerks etc. It would also make installing my backhoe a PITA. I get everything close from the driver's seat, but do the last few inches of alignment alternating between the hoe controls and HST pedals by hand.

Tangent: what's the point of the auto-PTO? Mine has it, but I never use it. In fact, before switching on the PTO, I like to throttle down to idle, and bring the implement up speed slowly. It seems like slamming the PTO on at 2600 RPM would be hard on the PTO, engine, and implement. What am I missing?

It doesn't seem to be a real soft start on it, but assume it must be somewhat? The gearboxes on my tiller and bush hog are rated way higher than my PTO HP, so I doubt the auto PTO engaging at high RPM is terrible, but I reduce rpm before lowering when using auto PTO. Don't use it much, and it's a minor convenience feature. Crossing a gravel road bush hogging, coming to end of a row tilling. Just raise 3pt and it cuts off, lower it back, it spins again. But with the electric PTO button, doesn't really save a whole lot. IF anything, I'm more likely to have 3pt raised for a while and forget about it. Then tractor won't start and takes a second to remember PTO still engaged, even though auto PTO has it "off".
