Interesting thread with some great pictures. I get the urge to buy one, but then realize that I'll probably never use it. I love the idea of milling my own wood, but there are too many other things that I need to do that are not getting done.
With your talent you could easily make one.

But then there's that time factor again...

I feel very humble, reading the posts and seeing the pictures of what some here are capable of doing. The biggest building I've put up alone was 8x12, so seeing what some people do (Like Billrog) leaves me shaking my head in amazement.
I just bought a basic mill because I've wanted one for years. Anything I build will come under the category of "Rough carpentry", although hopefully they will improve as

TY for all the kind remarks. I have a bit of a an advantage when it comes to building as I made my living at it for approx. 45 yrs. before getting to old to climb around like a monkey.

Inside of the shack doesn't take a carpenter to nail boards on.

Building isn't finished inside for it's intended purpose yet . Dr. on the right in next pic. is to a small bathroom as in the front of the shack I have a sani dump , water and 60 amp RV hook up just in case any of you ever come for a visit.

Mr. Billrog, on your 2 bay shed, how are the posts fastened to the ground? Can't tell if you poured footers, used concrete blocks or something else...

All nicely done by the way...!
