It is not alot of offset and with the King kutter II it is not ajustable. I just tilled about 1 ac with it and it drove nice and straight. The right side is offset and will cover you tracks and almost the left side. It may not be 4' offset but that is what I was told and do not have it on at this time to messure it. I found the right offset is nice since it is easier to turn to my right on my tractor.

I got the 2305 with 62" deck and 200cx for 13000 and I finaced 10000 with no upcharge like the other dealer. It was 700 less then the BX2350 which almost bought my tiller from tractor supply.
A 4 foot offset is a lot of off set and I mean like it's a big bunch of set off.

From KK website I guess it doesn't say it says the following.

KING KUTTER II GEAR DRIVEN ROTARY TILLERS are designed to perform with its heavy duty gear drive and square tube frame. With 6 tines per flange, you get maximum soil mix for preparing planting beds, gardens, incorporating fertilizer, landscaping, or other jobs. This Category 1 tiller includes a PTO shaft with heavy duty slip clutch. Available in 4, 5, and 6 ft. models. The 4 ft. model is offset to eliminate tire tracks.

I have pricing from JD, NH, & KB dealers. In your opinions, which tractor / tractor package gives the greatest bang for buck? NH starts as the lowest priced, but attachments & options add up fast.

Note: pricing in in CAD, all dealers are Canadian as well; I know these priced are higher that you get in the US.

JD 2305
tractor: 12,554 cash (13,054 @ 0%/36m)
62" mmm: 2,361
FEL: 2,888
Total: 17,803 cash (18,303 @ 0%/36m)
2 rear hyd. remotes: 218
Total with rear hyd: 18,021 cash (18,521 @ 0%/36m)

NH TZ25
tractor: 9,999 cash (10,999 @ 0%/36m) (w/sensitrak, + 250 for cruise)
60" mmm: 1,851
FEL: 3,200 (Woods LS72)
Total: 15,050 cash (16,050 @ 0%/36m)
1 rear hyd. remote 1,000 (yeah, that's all you get for 1 grand)
Total with rear hyd (1 only): 16,050 cash (17,050 @ 0%/36m)

KB BX2350
tractor: 11,100 cash (12,000 @ 0%/36m)
60" mmm: 2,020
FEL: 2,300
Total: 15,420 cash (16,320 @ 0%/36m)
2 rear hyd. remotes: 420
Total with rear hyd: 15,840 cash (16,740 @ 0%/36m)

And, BTW, my wife does not like the 'green' attitude. (It's pretty strong, or at least it used to be.) She grew up red (IH), but that doesn't seem to be an option in the SCUT line.

I was leaning that direction, just thought some of you would have the same or different opinions... And then...I just had a call from the NH Dealer, saying that they had a promo on until the end of today.

TZ25 w/ 60" mmm for 11,000 cash, 12,000 financed Add the Woods FEL @ 3,200, 1 rear remote @ 1,000, sensitrak for 250, and the total is 15,450 cash, 16450 financed.

What would you say, does this have better value that the BX2350? Or is orange the better option?

Ahhh, decisions - decisions! I wish I were in the tractor buying market again! I had so much fun shopping around for a tractor. I hit all the major dealerships (I live in a farming community, it seems there's a dealer on every corner).

It was so much fun...so exciting. ENJOY the experience. Whatever you pick, it seems you've done your homework. All of the tractors mentioned on this thread are good metal. You really can't go wrong no matter which you buy once you know the capacity that you'll use the tractor in and it seems you have that nailed down.

Buy what strikes your fancy, will do the job you need done and what fits your budget. There are guys on TBN who work a smaller tractor on a larger spread and do well with it...then again, there are guys on smaller spreads working larger tractors and they do fine too, despite the apparent overkill. (Note, you'll find there really is NO such thing as OVERKILL when it comes to HP/size...TBN has a way of doing that to you;) ).

You'll also find that on TBN, with the exception of a few knuckleheads, whatever color you buy will get good reviews. Everyone it seems has a "slight" bit of bias in their color tractor (nobody wants to think they could have gotten a better tractor by buying a different color, after the fact. Also, a lot of TBNers have had many tractors prior, making brand loyalty a factor). It would be a pretty boring site if we all had the same opinion and color tractor...it spices things up a bit to have all this diversity!

Whatever you get, post some pics!

Oh yeah, I heard the "Japanese" thing mentioned previously. Without beating a dead horse (this topic has suffered a beat down on TBN), Almost EVERY tractor you mentioned will have a Japanese engine in it!

Don't forget to consider that old International Brand, the compact Cub Cadet. They're not made by International (now Navistar??) any longer but still are great machines and way undervalued in the used market because they are not Green, Blue, or Orange (notice the order of listing, Americans first as it should be!). Cub colors are White/Orange.

I recently picked up a Cub Cadet 4wd Hydro Loader Backhoe unit that is just dandy. I ended up getting this Cub for about $4000-7000 less than a similar JohnDeere\Ford\Kobuta. I believe the brand new ones are very simular to the Mahinda brands from India, which are also way undervalued on the used market. I believe the Mahinda uses a Mitsubishi engine/trans, which like most things the Japanese copy from American design, are very reliable.

There are lots of decent new ones out there today and most any manufactured in the last 10-15 years are very reliable and good investments.
I prefer to buy American (patriotic and keeps Americans working and all that). If it's crap it just doesn't survive in the American marketplace, look at Yugo, Fiat, Dihatsu and others that failed because of poor quality. Unfortantilly all CUTs us engines from Asia up to about 40HP or so. Generally the larger sizes still have American made engines in them. Smaller JDs have used Yanmar engines for better than 12 years or so...

TIA for any help you may pass on to this ol Country Boy, sure do appreciate it!
JC.

BTW
This Cub (now called "Cubby") is in great shape with only 1180 hours when I got it. So far I've put on about 30+ hours on it and still have lots to do this Fall now that it's getting a bit cooler here in North Central MD. This thing is great, just as good or better than any of the Green, Orange or Blue I ran before (quite a few). Seems to have much better power and operator comfort than the similar JD's I considered but ruled out only because of price.
This thing is great, especially with my bum back... :)

Talked my PA Dealer into giving me a brand spanking new 3-Point Top link since mine was missing when purchased. :)

I went through this a year ago. When I got done with all the various dealers, deals, etc. I settled on a Massey 2300 with FEL and 4' tiller.

I have no complaints - does all the heavy lifting and lugging for us. Got a Markham tooth bar and use it to clean out the deadfall from the woods. Even use the bucket to haul water in to some of the shrubery.

I till my garden in about 20 minutes - full mix of sand, woods top soil, and NY clay. No tire tracks. New beds require a single pass to open. Then I add to them by the bucket full, then go over twice - all done and waiting for spring.

Why the Massey? A good dealer for parts and support (Abele in Albany, NY). A salesman willing to invest a little time in answering my questions (Lou Taylor of Abele). Kubota was too far away and I didn't care for the unit. JD had an abnoxious dealer that was not interested in small sales and tractor used seperate forward and reverse pedals, NH salesmen didn't know their products and I didn't care for the single pistol FEL lift. Kioti was not yet on the scene here.

What I like most about the 2300: the hydrostatic treadle control (great when using the FEL). What I like the least: ??? can't really say - there has been no failings. My satisfaction with the 2300 is a 10 out of 10.
