- John Deere 650, Ford 8n, John Deere Model 70 Kubota BX25D
I drove both and really wanted to go with the MF. But I ended up with the BX. I went back and fourth to both dealers read reviews, played in the dirt. I liked the MF but after sitting in the seat for about a half hour it began to hurt me. Now I do have some metal plates in me so that I would bet has a great deal to do with it. By far the best seat is on the 1 series...that seat is fantastic.
I also liked that the land pride grapple was basically made around the BX, and "could be made to work" on the JD and MF.
I also found that the bucket and backhoe worked fine at 2000 rpm. The manual says no full throttle for the first 50 hrs (IIRC) so I have not had it at full throttle at all yet.
Another thing was that the MF did not have 0% for 60 months like the JD and Kubota did. I think the Mahendra has it for 72 months now.
I did not drive the Max, it just had a cheaper feel to it over the other three.....the front axle looks very strong, but the plastics and such just felt like a different grade of plastic. And talking of plastic I did not like that the JD was all plastic.
I really think when you get down to it they are all so close together and are all good machines you should get the one that feels best to you and your behind.
To me it really does not matter where it is made....anymore this is a world economy....as long as I have a good strong local dealer to take care of issues that is very high on the list for me.
I also think that the MF was the best looking of them all.
Just my two bits.
