Well my day started off early. Me and the wife went out at the crack of dawn. She got the horses ready for the farier, and I had to tend to repairing the phone line out to the barn. Its been real wet lately and between the horses pawing in the pasture, and the dogs.. they managed to uncover the phone line and break the insulation making for a buzzy connection. I have put up with it for a week as I've had no time off.. but had to get to it today. Had to had dig a 150' trench as there are so many irigation lines and power lines under the front section of the pasture ( to the barn, and to the back of the pasture /chicken coops/hog pens ) Would have loved to have pulled a middle buster.. but didn't feel like doing any plumbing or electrical work!

Dug it.. dropped my new line.. patched it in ( sounds fine ), cover it back up. Had to get the old Ford 660 out to bring a scoop of dirt from the borrow pile to smooth out the trench.

While I was at it I too the time to fuss with the manerer pile and get it nice and tidy again.

After that I ues the loader as a super dooper tool carrier and carried my tools out to the back pasture to add some tie downs to the tube fram tarp canopy that the 660 lives under. Just now cam in and calle dit a day. Besides.. I gotta go to work in an hour and need to clean up.

Don't know what I did without a front end loader before!

You had to get more fill? I can never get all the dirt back in I pulled out...sort of like trying to repackage an appliance. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I did my first playing in the dirt with my new tc24d this last day of March. Had a pile of dirt that was next to a maple tree at the end of the drive. Decided to clear the pile out. So moved it to other side of the tree where it was low. Will transplant some day lilys there.

Found out that I am going to have to get some weight on the back of the tractor. Don't know if it will be wheel weights, fill the tires, or some kind of weight box for 3 point hitch.

It was fun though. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Soundguy you repaired a phone line to the barn eh?

I sure hope you have a block on the line to keep the Stallions from calling those X-rated Mare lines. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I found it very usefull to have a phone line out to the barn. After we had a mishap with a horse a few years ago that injuried itself in the barn while I was at work. The wife was going crazy running back and forth from the house to the barn talking to the vet.. going and trying something.. then running back to the house. ( built her legs up though! ). Anyway.. the next weekend I dropped the phone line in.

As I mentioned.. I would have loved to pull a middle buster thru to make my trench.. but with the wate rlines and power, and a fence line.. it would have been just as much work to pull a piece here and there and hand dig the rest. It was only 150' anyway. i had it dug, installed and tested and buried again in 4 hours. Then to 'rest' I played on the 660 turning the honey pile. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think I'm going to go out now and pull the pto shaft off my 7610s and cut it down a few inches, as when I added the slip clutch, I can no longer lift the mower up to max lift as the shaft 'runs out' of room. I think about 4" and it will be back to 'normal'
