Setting up a Log Splitter with my Kubota L2350

You have about a 4.4 GPM

Hydraulics:
Type: open
Capacity: 7.4 gal [28.0 L]
Pressure: -unknown-
Valve flow: 4.4 gpm [16.7 lpm]

The Prince PTO pump is about $500 , then you need a reservoir/tank. filter, etc.

You could switch out the log splitter valve for Prince Fast extend log splitter valve. It will make that 4.4 GPM seem like a 24 GPM flow.

Today, I purchased a CountyLine 3-point hitch log splitter from Tractor Supply (made by SpeeCo). The splitter utilizes the hydraulic system of the tractor. The problem is, the manual and instructions have zero about specifically setting it up to your tractor. I have done some research and it appears this is a little more sophisticated than I expected. I have a Kubota L2350. Someone told me to located the PBY or "power beyond port", but I can't seem to find one.

Anyone have any experience setting up a log splitter to a tractor like mine?

Might be more expensive but simpler using something like this:

I'd probably go for the 540rpm 4.9 ci pump so I wouldn't have to have the tractor running pto speed while splitting but rather a fast idle. If you did want to use it to power something else later you could use up to most of your rated horsepower.

Your log splitter will work just fine with the LSR-3060-3 valve from Prince, and the least expensive.

Prince LSR Rapid Extend Logsplitter Valve - Cylinder Services

If you need lots of GPM's, and have an extra reservoir at a 1:1 PTO gal to tank size, then the PTO pump will work.

You have to match up the GPM that the pump produces with the PTO HP your tractor has. The pressure on the PTO pumps is usually around 2250 psi

Your tractor has 20 HP rating for the PTO.

The PDF for your tractor shows the hyd block, but you say you don't have that option. There should be a port that is plugged now that may give you the hyd flow.

The hyd block might also be the unit that routes the fluid and is called PB outlet.

Since you and us don't have a good side picture of the side of the tractor, your best bet is to go and talk to a Kubota mechanic at the Kubota dealer and ask where is the best place to hook up a log splitter. He just might say to get the optional hyd block and connect your hose here.

If you can locate the hyd outlet, you can run a hose to the back and supply the log splitter with fluid, and dump the out of the log splitter valve to tank.

My Kubota has a switch on the 2 port hyd block to feed fluid to the back and return the hyd fluid to the hyd block for the 3pt and then to tank..

There is no port, the only other place to hook on is at the PS ports. That is why they made the option hyd.block.

It seems to me that if the hyd block bolts on the side of the case, then there should be a port there.

Item 210 on page 22 on the PDF bolts somewhere to provide a hyd outlet.

Maybe the outlet has a plug in the side of the case where you bolt the hyd block.

Go look at it again and look for A then match up the other A

If the Kubota place has one on the lot, I will put eyes on and get some print outs, and take some pictures.

Did you find where the block goes on the PDF picture?
