Every engineer worth his salt knows the "bathtub curve" of failure probability versus time. Essentially, all devices and systems have a very high rate of failure when very new and very old, with a much lower probability of failure throughout mid-life.It's a new tractor, so probably lots of fun.
My current 3033R blew a major hydro seal in its first 3 weeks of use, due to an assembly error at the factory, but has been totally trouble-free the five-plus years since. Hopefully your neighbor doesn't experience any painful examples of this, while the kids are riding high in the bucket.
