That didn't work..........completely. The driver works fine but no three point or FEL. Back to the drawing board:thumbsup:

Do you have a hyd port/outlet in the back.

Wherever you get the hyd source, you can then run the OUT port hyd's to tank.

If you have a remote outlet, just plug in in and it should work. You might have to bungee or select detent.

No rear hydro remotes

So where did you get the hyd for the pounder?

You could run a hose from the PB outlet on the FEL valve, to the back, and another hose from the 3pt.

In regular use these hoses would be plugged together. TO use the pounder, disconnect the two hoses and connect the pounder, and run the return hose to tank.

If you want 3pt lift, the pounder valve should be PB, but some people seem to run the 3pt off the return port from the FEL. There is a problem with back pressure.

If the pounder valve can take the tractor full pressure, then all is well, and you can plug the return hose to the feed the 3pt hose.

I re-read your post, and you should have removed both the curl cyl hose/work port, and ran to the back with QD. Then plug the pounder valve into the QD's, and bungee the FEL to curl on/activated. Send the pounder return/OUT to tank. You would still have the 3pt. Should use the largest size hoses from the FEL valve to the back.

If you are using all the hyd fluid for the pounder, you will have to shut off the valve or bungee the curl part way open, then you will have fluid for both 3pt and pounder.

Here is how I did it

That is exactly what I am trying to do but I dont know which hose from the FEL is PB. According to my local hydro shop, when I remove the "closed center plug" from the driver valve and add an adapter with QD the driver valve becomes PB

The normal hyd circuit would be like this. Pump, FEL, PB out to 3pt, to tank. Your FEL valve would have 7 hoses on it, and one of them would go to the 3pt. That could be your source for the hyd. If you did not want to use that, then use the curl circuit. If you wanted to use the PB hose, then run that hose to the back for the pounder.

You will have to decide what to do with the 3pt circuit, as you removed the PB going to the 3pt.

Three options, add remotes to the back, or use the PB hose as the hyd supply, or use the curl cyl hose for the hyd supply.

If you remove the closed center plug, you need to add a PB sleeve to make it PB. Your OUT port would go to tank.

If you just remove the closed center plug, and added a QD, that would make that port another OUT port.

PB is acquired when you separate the OUT /tank port with the main gallery which passes the fluid downstream.

I have this very same valve with a similar problem, previously used on a John Deere. I pulled the shiny plug and discovered it was a closed center plug. Took it to my local hydro shop and they said remove the plug and install an adapter for hose or QD. Disconnect FEL from "A" port on front block and plumb to inlet on driver. Run a hose back to FEL from new port on driver and all should work. I will test this tonight and post results.

Sparkslinger,

Can you take a picture of the Closed Center plug so I can compare to mine? Also, does your local hyd shop have an open center plug for this valve? I'm having problems finding one. Everyone I talk to wants to sell me the entire valve body end, with the open center option, for $198. Seems way to high to me. I just need the plug.

Picture 3, large shiny hex nut. I believe the other plug with the indented hex, is another OUT port and is plugged because the other port is used, however, I would check out both ports.

You may find a long sleeved plug with two o-rings, or a hex screw, and a short plug.

Take pictures of both plugs and the inside of the ports.

JJ,

Still didn't get a chance to pull the plug. We've had rain all week, 9" in total since Monday. Tomorrow will be better and I'll take a look at it then.
