It is, but I think...and I repeat I think, the newest units have the tong style electrode holder. Out on the East coast, I don't get to see the newest updates everyday.

Surprisingly, I just received mine today. Very nice looking machine. :cool2:
It wasn't supposed to be here until tomorrow. I had to pay tax on it so I suppose it came out of the Amazon warehouse in Texas.

When I took it out of the box, I saw it was the newer style with the tong type electrode holder, like this one.

Just got the notice mine shipped.... Looks like a Friday arrival!

Got mine a few minutes ago. Put the plug on and fired it up. It lights up but my helmet is at the ranch 50 miles away. I will have to wait until tomorrow to make sparks.
Three comments: This thing is HEAVY. The fan is LOUD. The electrode holder and work clamp springs are STRONG. (none of these are criticisms, each of those is good)

BTW, it has the tong type electrode holder.

Looks like the first project will be to put wheels under it.

I have been spending the last month cleaning and organizing my barn.
It looks a whole lot better, still has a long way to go
I am in process of building a steel stairway to the loft, I got a deal from a scrapyard 22 steel grating steps and channel runners, so me and a friend are going to build a 14 foot tall stairway so my loft is accessible.

Maybe the returns center is also a distribution center??

Well, the PA300 (be it new or old model) certainly does a nice job with hardfacing. 200 amp, hot start on full, arc force on full, and it put down a very nice bead.

Not that the PA200 didn't do a good job but it was maxed out and without hot start and arc force. The extra features on the PA300 helped (as in WOW) the starting and eliminated the sticking/arc loss that are common issue with Stoody 31.

Oh, and the inspection on my machine was June 2013 as well.
