ShieldArc's Amazon killer deal on Everlast???

What part of, Amazon is losing money on everyone of these, are you having trouble with? Amazon made a mistake. It's a mistake that many of us took advantage of. Maybe we should get together, as buyers, and buy one for Shield Arc. That would make sense to me. Thanks Shield Arc!

I do not necessarily think Amazon made a mistake. If so their first price increase would have fully corrected everything. I have priced other things on Amazon before and sometimes the price you see today will be different than the one you see tomorrow on same item. Sometimes it seems your search inquiry was just enough to trigger a price increase if you happen to wait a day before buying as the qty available for sale is still the same. Of course as sales qty's increase then the price goes up. We rarely do not think much about it when it is an item known to cost $4 at wholesale retail for $6 in stores yet we find it for on Amazon for $2.

Actually guys member boomer1025 PMed me yesterday with the link. He said he remembered I wanted a PA-300. I PMed Mark to see if he could match the deal. I'd much rather deal with Mark:thumbsup:. He told me it was a mistake, and to jump on it for that price. As always Mark gives great advice, so I did just as he said!

I know the pricing discounts...it is below their cost significantly, and even below ours to produce it when everything is taken into account for shipping, import customs etc...

Well, Mark said the asking price was way below their purchase price. Yeah, they made a mistake, I guess, unless they wanted to dump some old stock for some reason. And now the price is up to where it's still a good deal, but not a giveaway. It probably auto adjusts based on volume. It certainly won't break them, but I can't imagine they did it on purpose. Many of us thought it was a fluke, so we jumped on it before Amazon could correct it, and now they are beginning to. I took advantage of their offer at the low first price, as many others did, suspecting something must be wrong.

I have nothing against Amazon and use them all the time, but if my friend had a small welding supply and made that mistake, I'd clarify if it was correct before buying because I would not want to run him out of business with a flood of money losing commitments.

If only I knew how to weld, or had the time to learn, or had something to weld.

Don't let that stop you. Can't learn to weld if you don't have a welder, right?

Once you have one, and start to use it, you will find all sorts of things that will need to be fixed/made.

I am bummed. I waited for my wife to come home. She really likes getting things on sale. she said get it. By that time the price was $495.
no go. But it leads me to a question. I have a Lincoln 200A AC machine . I use mostly 1/8 and 5/32 6011 from TSC. Is that the same as E 6011 cellulosic rod talked about in the specs for those machines? Reading between the lines , if I get say a 200 st can I use the rods I have.

Yes. Sometimes we drop the 'E' from the rod type. All stick rods start with an 'E' for Electrode.

I have the PA200ST and it will work with any 1/8 electrode.
