No brainer.

$13,000 for this package, indoor stored, is an excellent price. New, the Tiller would add $3,000. Pay the man $13,000 and take it home before someone grabs it from under your nose. Buy some squash, melon and corn seeds on the way home.

If you bought new you would have an additional 6% to 7% sales tax on $18,900. (7% = $1,323)

Let's do the math: $18,900 + $1,323 tax = $20,223 - $13,000 = $7,223 + $3,000/tiller = $10,223 savings. No brainer.

Your popularity with your neighbors is about to increase.

And there you have it, I was thinking it, and Jeff said it lol.

I will definitely buy it as long as it is in as good or better shape than in the pics. I wont be able to actually see it until saturday, I'm going to call him and see if he'll save it for me. Like wifey said "if it's meant to be". Just curious are there any specifics with these tractors to look at? I'm a pretty active shadetree mechanic so i have a very good sense of things to look at, just wondering if theres anything inherint to these tractors other than the plastic fan? Thanks

Were I the owner, I would not "save" a tractor for sale. First arrival with $13,000 takes it.

Your are the ideal prospective owner. The BX series are unqualified excellent mowers, which is the main use you intend.

As tractors, the 9" ground clearance is the main BX limitation, in common with all sub-compact tractors of whatever brand. (Some Iseki's have only 7-1/4" ground clearance.)

If you want to go into the woods, you will have to remove the MMM to have 9" ground clearance.

When you want to mount the tiller, you have to remove the Backhoe to access the Three Point Hitch. This evolution is the same for all tractor brands.

Buy with confidence in the evolved BX design. Read the (one?, two?, three?) Operator's Manuals.

Yes- that sounds like a very fair price. Can always sell the tiller and recoup some of the initial outlay if you don't need it. Should get a grand or more for it in good shape (TractorHouse.com | 216 LAND PRIDE RTA1242 For Sale Here is a new one in the BX size range listed at $1740 for reference.)

Just a mention . . .. the plastic fan is not the issue nearly as much as the process of getting at the fan if it needs replacing. Thats what makes them an issue . . . labor.

Couple of suggestions . . You said you can't see ir till Saturday. If its because the seller isn't available . . . then "saving it" isn't an issue. That means its you that aren't available. Instead of asking him to "save it" which I would not do (implies you are going to buy it and are too eager) . . can you arrange to see it Friday. Remember . . many potential lookers are available on Saturdays.

Second thing . . . Breathe. Its obvious you are eager . . you originally said it was in great condition and you are quite particular . . but in a later post said you'd only seen pictures. So as yet you don't know . . pictures show "washed and waxed" imo. Breathe. Your wife tells you good advice . . it will work out if its supposed to . . but don't assume it is in great shape . . assume you don't know.

Lastly . . should you offer less ? Too eager :) If you're standing in a line to look at it . . Pay full price. If you are the only one there . . Offer 12k and let him talk you up to 12.5k . . Make this fun . . the worst that happens is you pay full price. You do understand that most sellers expect to "parlay". You walk up to the unit and offer him full price and he'll always wonder if he asked way too little lol. Breathe . . . this is supposed to be fun :)

Buy it - now! I have an 09 model and it is fabulous. (No abrupt stopping, and no "rolling" stops.) Just have a look underneath and make sure that the HST fan is still intact, and the seller probably already has a guard for it that he bought from BXpanded.com or even from Kubota.

If I sold mine I would ask $13,000 without a tiller or MMM.

Seriously, do not wait or it will be gone to someone else. Those BX25 tractors are very, very popular.

Unfortunately I'm not available to go see it until Saturday morning, i guess if that tractors supposed to be mine it will be.. I'm hoping to get it cheaper as he's already told me he's moving soon and wants to sell it before they leave. He's told me he's had a few calls but no one seems to have the miney as of yet to buy it. The way i take it with the 0% they offer alot of people in the market are looking at new as i was. The only reason I'm Willing to buy used is my credit union has offered pretty low rates on used tractors, almost low enough to forget about looking at new. I guess we'll see come saturday.

If, as you suspect, the tractor is in good shape, I would have almost zero worries about buying used. The money you will save would buy a lot of implements later, a brand new tractor gets dirty when you use it, and so forth. Too bad about not being able to look at it- around here, it would be sold by now, most likely. We enjoy photos, so if it comes to pass you bring it home, please share.

Just finished up looking at it, it was in to be expected condition, few scratches, little dirty but all in al i felt comfortable telling him i'm interested. We haggled just a little, i might have low-balled him alittle up front but we were able to settle on $12k!!!.... I felt that with the few small things wrong it is a steal! The tiller is a land pride rtr1250, only 1.5yrs old and was used twice. What would be a fair asking price for it as i have no intention of using it? Everything seemed to function as it should with just typical body wear and tear. Backhoe looks like its been used very little as it had most of its paint on the bucket. All in all i feel very comfortable with the deal..

I think they are about $2000 new... maybe $1800 would move it fast?
