and finally all smoothed over. I think it's not bad for just using the loader. I have a Farmall Cub with a belly blade that may make it easier, but probably no better.

1. But it is a sub-cut... it has 4WD, a Cat 1 3PT, rear 540 PTO and can take a back hoe quite similar to your BX. Check the attachments available on the page below.
2. To see the Daihatsu engine availability, check the product specifications/list prices by model link on this page:

3.It's quite comparable to the BX series, it just has a smaller turning radius and mows better... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

1*Just because it has these features / options don't make it a sub compact.
In their literature they call the Legacy XL Simplicity's best garden tractor.
Simplicity classifies it as a garden tractor so that is good enough for me.
2*I stand corrected the diesel is a briggs/Daihatsu. I was thinking of the Kawasaki when I made the comment. Sorry-my bad.
3*If this is so why doesn't Simplicity classify it as a sub compact and call it that?

1*That's not surprising most all lawn tractors and garden tractors have a smaller turning radius than the Sub-cuts and compacts.
2*There is no hint in any of the brochures and literature I have of a Daihatsu motor being available in the Simplicity. )

Maybe they just don't want to "play the game" of what's a CUT, a sub-CUT, a mini-CUT, or a maxi-CUT, or whatever...

Their target market is someone moving up from a garden tractor, not down from an Ag tractor....

Ended up popping out six old stumps in total today.
dug all around a stump about 18" in diameter with the XL.

1*Did you do all of this with the FEL?
2* Simplicity does.
Did you get a Back Hoe for it?

Why did you chose it over a Kubota , JD, or Massy Subcompact?

What bothers me about this picture is using a FEL without a ROPS.
Especially when using a FEL is one of the easiest ways to flip a tractor.

You are 100% right about the ROPS. I know better than that, and I need to get one for the tractor. Thinking either it wont happen or if it does I'll just jump off is very poor logic.

So, what does a sub-cut have that it doesn't -- except for a ROPS and a mediocre mowing deck?

Check the specs, check the weight, check the options and attachments, then tell me what a Kubota sub-cut has that it doesn't...

I guess I need an education. Exactly what does subcompact mean? I looked at the BX2200, MF GC2200, NH TZ18 and the JD x595. For the life of me, I can't see that one does any more or less than the others, unless I'm missing something. Matter of personal preference. If only a matter of semantics, why argue over it? In the scheme of things, it doesn't mean a hill of beans.

LBrown59, you seem to be pretty loyal to Kubota, which is fine. Just not sure why you are making the arguments about the Legacy XL. I haven't even received mine yet, and here I am in the middle of a conversation about it .
