Single Tooth Ripper

I ordered mine from Northeastern in Epsom 736-7800.
I didn't ask what brand but I believe it'll be a Worksaver. The dealers I called were from $175-250 with a freight quote of $25 up to $75. I was just looking to find one on hand & would have driven to get it that day at any of those prices. I'll tell you there is a large Kubota/NH dealer in with locations in Plaistow & Tilton, I called Tilton & got a very pleasant guy on the phone, he was in sales but I don't think he knew what a tractor was. I specifically told him subsoiler or single tooth ripper, & he would check & call me back. He called & told me his manager knew exactly what I was looking for, It would be about a week to get & it would be about $700.00!
I thanked him & moved on.

I bought a King Kutter XB model for my TC18. The price was around $120 from TSC. It has both the middle buster and the ripper. I use mine for small stumps no bigger than about 5", works well. The tractor digs in before lifting the front end.

I found one in a yard full of old implements. I've a lot of shale down about a foot from the top. I have pulled up some really big slabs, when I hook something that the tractor won't pull up, I just loose traction.

I also bought the King Kutter from TSC but it was the 14" depth sub-soiler only. It was $159. Used it today for the first time to bust up a garden. It works great. I can see how it would be really helpful for installing underground piping or cabling.

I used a KingKutter Subsoiler from TSC ($138) for pulling out small ash stumps (<3 inches). It works well for that purpose. You might also try pulling the unit forward until the shank hits a root, then lift up with the three point. This helps break roots around the stump trunk. As long as the implement is hooked completely to the three point (use both the lift arm pins and the top link asssembly) you will not have any problem with flipping over. If you use only the lift arms to pull (eg.: dragging a log, using a trailer hitch ball) there is a chance to lift the front end.

The ripper I really liked was from MonroeTufline. I like the looks of the single shank ripper, but the $600 price tag put me off.

I have the Worksaver subsoiler, just like the one posted by Sweet Tractor. Pulled by a 20 hp CUT, it works suprisingly well for pulling smaller stumps. I've tried to rip roots surrounding larger stumps, starting 2-3' from the stump, and had some luck with pines. It pops good size rocks out as well. For the money, it is definately worth a try. I ordered mine at T & T power in Pembroke.
