Sorry, I thought that you didn't have internet at the house for some reason.

If you have internet at the house, by all means use WiFi calling. You could even put in a long range WiFi access point outside pointed down into your canyon.

Some companies have to be called to enable WiFi, and also to prioritize WiFi over cellular. If you are in a fringe area with good Wifi, it is worth the call.

Go for a refurb unit.

I hate paying extra for antennas but I paid about $90 for a Weboost bottom of the line model about 5 years ago. Went from < 1 bar to up to 3 bars in the living room. According to my cell phone it provided about a 10 dB boost. Well worth the $90.
/edit - didn't seem to improve my Mobley reception.

Have not tried it for some time but was not allowed when I tried to use DSL at mom's.

I have T-mobile for quite a few years. They've had WIFI calling for a long time now. I use it in my house and at my employer's many buildings in the basement mechanical rooms. Works great. Only glitches are when you move from interior to exterior far enough away from the building for it to switch from WIFI back to CELL. Usually just turning WIFI off and on again corrects it in about 20 seconds.

I have to say that T-Mobile has great customer service. Their signal stinks when you get away from urban areas (if we see corn, we lose signal), but each year it is getting better. To the point that we dropped the land line and use an old iPhone for the house phone for the past few years. We have 5 lines (me, wife, 2 kids and house phone) for about 98 cents per day per line. All unlimited voice, data and text. I'm really happy with their pricing and service.

I have a T-mobile booster that TM gave us for free (with $200 is we don't give it back if we leave their service).
Call them and ask for the signal booster, they did not even argue, just sent it to us.
Free works for me!

Cheaper for them then putting in a new tower.
