Snow Attachments Snow Blower - Should I buy this?

I don't like the part where the seller claims blowers all clog around the house. That's not so for me. 1 1/2 years ago I bought a new rear 60" meteor which has moved all kinds and lot of snow and honestly, it has never plugged. Is this a problem for anybody else? It makes me wonder why this blower offered for sale plugs up

The only way most of them should have a problem plugging is if you don't have a live pto or have a live pto but let the rpms drop low while still feeding snow. Then they can tend to clog. Easiest way to prevent is to always raise the blower and let the shute clear itself of snow before letting rpms drop.

re: pricing - I'd be a little leery of all the repairs and the reason he's buying a brand new one. I bought a 60 inch allied which is a mid range blower. Not as good as a loftness, provonost or other heavy duty models but I paid $1300 brand new (dealer had ordered too many and it was a light winter so I bought it in feb cheap). I've had it for about 5 years now and it looks brand new so if the one you're looking at has had that many repairs it may be way old.

There have been lots of snow blower brands over the years. But with the exception of some recent cheap units, they have mostly been very rugged long-lasting machines. The big-money part is the gearbox - but they almost never fail. Snowblowing is rarely more than a 20-30 hp job. Older rusty blowers can go for short money (like $500) - and still blow snow forever. I'd maybe pass on a patched one that's over $1k. Also, your tractor would easily handle a bigger one - 6 or 7 foot.

There's a huge number of posts on TBN about snowblowers - a search will tell you about size and pricing and everything else.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to comment. I've decided to pass on this unit. After all, it is only June and I've got plenty of time to find something.

The second stage fan shaft is new machined aluminum professionally done.

Huh? I've never heard of an aluminum shaft to drive a snow blower. That sounds soft & waek to me - east to machine, not good to use?

I've got a 73" Allied 3pt hitch snowblower here in Pittsburgh, Pa for sale. Could work out a delivery maybe if you aren't too far away. Mine is in like new condition hardly been used. I have used it on a 30hp Ford 1900.
Garage kept. no rust.
