Snow....

Thomas,

Went across southern NH and VT today. The amount of snow in the higher elevations REALLY has to be seen to be believed. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Snowbanks easily 5' -6' high. Cold too 12 degrees this morning. Doesn't look like the snow will be going anywhere fast for while./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

The old guy I purchase my beef from had the roof on the barn collapse under the weight of the snow. Don't know the extent of the damage yet, his '49 JD MT was in there, along with a MF, and a manure spreader.
You asked about the planter. It has a 3-point hookup to lift and carry it and when it's pulled behind the tractor the operating mechanism is gear driven by the one large AG style wheel you see in the pic. In tough terrain a second drive wheel can be fitted to the other side. Kinda like posi-traction./w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

BTW, this is the web site where that can be found along with some other vegetable crop machinery. http://www.marketfarm.com/

Anyhow here's another snowpic. This morning outside the greenhouse.

Re: Snow....AGAIN!

Well here it comes again. Been snowin here all day. 8"+ of wet heavy stuff again. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif What a mess.
More precipitation predicted for early next week too! Now they're concerned about the rivers flooding over when it all melts.

Re: Snow....AGAIN!

Like the old saying go for the month of March,in like a loin out like a lamb or in like lamb out like a loin, but this march is seems to be in like a loin out like a T-Rex. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I'm look at 15" of wet heavy snow and running out of room fast, /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gifand maybe I better be thinking adding my name to the list of having that D8 showing up. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Maybe when we set the clocks ahead tomorrow spring just might show early. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Geeze the last thing we need right now couple good days of rain, for those poor people that live in the flood plains..yikes.

Be careful when out and about, for I heard old man winter isn't done w/ us yet.

Well, snowplowing is done. Bird must be harvesting his first of his crops. Harv must be busy building his highway system on his property. Von must be summerizing his zambonie. Thomas still sipping coffee. Gordon trying not to get his tractor stuck. Mud season isn't to bad here (yet). The Trout River is behaving just a few feet below flood stage. I've got a few more snow removal pics from the last few days in March. Enjoy! If you don't like snow or are sick of it, don't look.

By the way, Jay Peak has the highest amount of recorded snow fall of any ski resort in the USA!

571" as of today with snow flurries at the summit.

Same house. Drive was pushed back with a Case articutaled loader. He was just able to get the right garage door open. The snow was stacked 10 to 12 feet high all the way around. He said he would need to get the excavator if ther owner wanted it opened more!

What kind of heat do you use to hold that 75 degrees inside
your green house. I have been debating on getting into the flower and veggie growing for profit.
Thanks Larry
