I am in the process of hooking up the power motor chute rotator and the power actuator for the chute deflector angle. I consider myself a pretty good back yard mechanic but I have a problem! I tried bench testing the motor and the actuator but can't get them to work. Each unit has two wire coming from them. I assumed the motor housing was the ground (-) and the the two wires from the motor were either up/down or right/left depending on which one I applied plus (+) voltage to. Maybe today I will try it right off the Kubota battery and see what happens. :mur:

That ones mine. It was easy to put together and works great. Going on second year with no problems. I already have it set to go for this year.

Bugsrlb. Reverse the wires and see what happens, thats how it works.

You will need a DPDT switch or the aquvelent.

You mean put plus (+) to the motor housing and ground (-) to the wires???

I was going to do this and that presents another question! What amp fuse should each unit be fused with?

My past snowblower was a woods ss-60 and I added a chute rotator using a Harbor Freight winch and mounted a shaft to the end of the winch that connected up the the chute U-joint. This work great for me and I also added a linear actuator for controlling the deflector too.
I had a 4 linear actuator that I used but thing a 3 travel one would work better. As for the winch hook up it is straight 12 VDC operation and I used the controller that came with the winch. One problem with that is the controller is not weather proof and the first one got wet inside and the controller was history.

Much to my surprise HF had repair parts available and shipped one out quickly.

The Woods snowblower worked fine for a number of years and I ended up selling it to a friend who is still using it with both add on items. I now have a front mounted snowblower and will be adding a linear actuator and a hydraulic chute rotator.
This will permit me to use the FEL control to do the rotating and lifting of the snowblower.

Positive to one wire, negitive to the other. Switch them to change direction.

I also wanted to add,that on my gear motor,I coated a lot of it with liquid electrician tape.It's a rubber coating,so it helps seal out the moisture.I also spray as much of the chute and inside of the snowblower with cooking Pam,it helps keep the snow from plugging up the chute.
