So how long did it take after you got your tractor

A couple of months. See attachment. It has been between the garage doors since June. Kinda a reminder to me to Make sure all is "ready on the left! Ready on the Right! ready on the firing line!"

Had a bid of 50 cents on it, but my daughter never came through with the cash. Oh well, her loss.

About 2 weeks, but I lucked out. I backed out of the shop overhang and cut the wheels too much. The FEL hit and drug along the support for the roof. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I freaked and grabbed everything but the clutch, and I finally hit the shuttle shift. No damage, the I-beam support survived, and the FEL got a scratch. But best of all, NO WITNESSES! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If they didn't see it, it didn't happen. Right? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

About three weeks after I got my tractor forgot I ordered foldable ROPs for a reason, I proudly finished up mowing and started into the garage wedged the tractor under the garage threshold and smack up against the garage door, had to remove the garage door opener to get the tractor in far enough to fold the ROPs down, amazingly only a slight nick to the overhead door header coil wrap.
Worse part was the wife's glare. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

10-15 minutes

Just driven it off the van, my boss from work drove it round the back becuse he was having too much fun so I told him to take it round.
I hopped on and rode onto the lawn. The lawn is on a slope and it was very muddy, the tractor had turf tyres on. I went to round the corner to go back up the garden again and put on the brakes, yikes!, the left hand brakes dont work (second hand tractor). I veered horribly down the slope the right hand wheel locked up, I tried the diff lock, a terrible crunch encouraged me not to do that again so I let it go, I tried to drop it into reverse to stop it, I could see everybody cringing (there was an audience) mainly at the huge gouges I was taking out the lawn but I could see a few people wondering how I was going to stop the tractor. It isnt the first time Ive been sliding down the garden with the wheels locked up, but never on a tractor this large and expensive.
The gearbox jammed and it wouldnt shift into reverse, I was still sliding and could see I was getting quite close to the really steep part of the garden, the whole slide was quiet slow but I was quite keen on stopping my nice new tractor. Aha, a tree, crunch.
It stopped the tractor, the tractor was fine due to the huge lump of solid steel bolted to the front but the tree suffered, ah well, I would always tow it vertical again when it dried out /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Worst part of it all was there was a large audience /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Happened either the second or third time I mowed around a certain group of bushes. Have a nice set of scratches on the left side. Needless to say, the bushes have been trimmed back.

gee, which time? I have a nice hole in the barn tin where a hay spear went through. That is right below the creases where the lip of the bucket contacted it. Busted taillight where a sprayer valve swung out when the sprayer wheel fell into a hole. Too many limb scratches to list. That is just the stuff that comes to mind immediately.

1 Month before I bent some siding trim on the house. Rookie mistake.

2 months before folding in the track for the garage door with my FEL. This happened because I was looking at the nice shiny 3PH Mower I borrowed from the dealer. Now it haunts me everytime I walk by it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The SO took out a large branch on an ornamental tree with the ROPS on her first mowing attempt. She then said "it was too low and needed to be trimmed off anyway." I just said "I'm glad it was you and not me." I got a real dark look for that comment.

What have I hit? Nottin - thats my story and I'm stickin to it.

Good thread, many of us love to confirm our humanity... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was obligated to prove to my wife that the new 3430 was not too big to fit in the horse stall and that it would be able to back drag manure. You see, one great justification for the tractor was this horse maintenance thing..... Oh I got it in there... BUT The stall/barn had to be 'modified' to get the tractor back out after it's first and only visit to the stall...

The scraper blade still was store clean when I bent the support leg trying to mount it for the second time...

Jumping on the tractor and failing to lift that same scraper blade has torn up more stuff that I wish to admit... I am starting to remember more often now....

Then again there was that big ford that totaled my tractor at 3 hrs on the hour meter but that does not count does it....

Today I did a great job on the lawn with the new snow plow rig that I just had to try out..... But I have till spring (I hope) before anyone sees that... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

So how much of that white sh-

ER, stuff did you guys get? We got about 2 inches here, which has since melted. Farther north they had 8 or more inches of wet, heavy stuff; power was out, trees are across the road...
It wouldn't have been so bad if it would've stopped raining sometime in the last 2 months, long enough to get ready for winter.

So far, I haven't hit anything other than a couple of tree stumps, but then, there are no buildings on my proerty yet......the day's coming..........

I did bend the bottom lip of the FEL bucket trying to lift too big a rock tho........

While demoing a Toolcat with Brushcat, I ran over one of the hydraulic hoses, cut it and pumped out 6 gallons of hydraulic fluid without realizing. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Lost all hydraulic fxns - no boom movt, no attachment fxn, no transmission fxn. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Got out, realized what happened /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif and replaced the hydraulic fluid. My dealer told me s"it happens" and replaced the hose. But I learned (at least I hope I did!) /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

About 10 days - I was loading my LN600 dump truck with creek gravel, had been for days being very careful, when I slipped the clutch a little too quick and mashed the plastic nose of my Mahindra into the bed rail. Cracked the nose in several places and shifted the hood back about 1/2" at the hinge. This is when I decided it was time to build a brushguard !!! I built a nice heavy one from some scrap I had laying around and it has worked great for almost 4 years now protecting that busted nose.

I can now contribute as I jsut drove the tractor for the first time. It was on my second trip taking firewood to the stack pile, I backed under the clothes line, and I caught the post that sticks iop n the middle of the clothes line with the 3PH cargo box. I felt something back there and turned around and there was the cargo box pushing that post sideways, and all my clothespins were being pushed down the clothesline, like box cars on a little choo-choo train, with the clothes line being the track.

It wasn't much, but it did make me realize that with the cargo box you have to allow for the extra width. It was after about 1 hour of seat time.

My husband came up about 10 minutes later to warn me about allowing for the cargo box while maneuvering, as he scraped a stone wall when he was learning. I let him know I just had my first lesson as I took out the clotheline post.

I can only imagine the damage I could do if I was driving the big Goldini tractor, Yikes! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I was telling a co-worker about this thread and he just laughed. Seems he took out a back porch pillar in the first hour of his first project after getting his new kubota. he was clearing a path for a walkway and hit it with his fel on a turn. luckily not "too much damage". i never could find out what "too much damage" actually is.

Do not think you should be measuring in days and weeks but in hours on the engine.

I will jinx myself and say I am at 50 hours and have not run into anything yet.

However, I did manage to put a u-bend in the top-link on my 3-pt hitch in less than 10 hours. The bad part is I never really did figure out just exactly how I did it /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

A few weeks after purchase I was box blading and tree branch came up and bent my hydraulic filter bracket, ripping the hose loose. Lost 2 gallons of fluid.

I mean 10 gallons of fluid. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
