So what happened to the thread on the 2008 Kubota's??

I know that there was introductions of equipment that is new to the industry in the US although not to say it's totally new in principle. Kubota has been the recognized leader in the compact tractor industry for years with product advancements. Some of it is unique in the industry and it will be interesting to see if others will follow.

The company might like to keep it under wraps a little longer that they have the equipment built that way ready to be released, is that really a problem? Only to our growing minds! I know I'm excited about it much the same as other dealers. I think that anyone in the dealerships that were able to be there and see the equipment should be excited! We haven't had all the salesmen we employ in yet to review the new equipment but for those that have they just want to know when, which brings up another problem. When will we all see the new equipment? While, a little in February, a little in March, get the idea? Some of it won't be available till fall, I hope you have a lot of patience!

Why would they stop making the older model so long before the the new ones hit the shelf.
Thats like ford stopping production on the f150 now because there is a new model coming out next year.

That's your impression and interpretation of what Hakim wrote. Hakim made a suggestion to drop the discussion because it won't lead anywhere. If it makes you feel better, keep debating.

Oh, that was no suggestion. It was an imperative sentence. The posters had every reason to wonder what had happened to the original thread. All he needed to do was explain what had happened.

I don't know if it's the case here, but many companies keep new product features and launch dates somewhat vague to protect current sales.

As soon as everyone knows when a new product will be released, and exactly what features it has, existing inventory on dealer lots is likely to sit there forever, as people wait for the new model. It may be good to "build excitement" over new product, but building excitement doesn't produce sales right now.

This is especially true when the new feature list reads like a list of items "corrected" (I mean "improved") over the current model. It makes the current model sound like a bad product.

"New, easy to read tachometer" implies the current tachometer is difficult to read. And so on.

The interesting thing about this thread -

I purchased both my B7800 and my RTV with information I gleaned from here.

BOTH were first year models, in BOTH cases I was made aware of them HERE.
In BOTH cases I went to dealers for more info. Only one dealer didn't have information on them, they did return my visit with a courtesy call when THEY got informed.

How about that.

What is interesting in this whole subject is that the Texas State Fair starts today and all this information will probably be available from the Kubota dealers displaying the product.;)

Back in the day, circa 2001 I think, I read about and saw in pictures a GMC sierra C3 pickup about 6 months ahead of when it was released. I went to our local dealer and asked them about when they would be getting some. All I got was confusion. They said it didn't exist and knew nothing or heard of it. This stuff happens all the time in the auto industry, just look at any car mag and they have info about models months if not years ahead of their release.

Kubota's method of building allows them to change out quickly as their assembly lines builds multiples of equipment all the time not just one type of unit at a time. Normally there are five items on each line being assembled. Believe me that Ford is already tooling for 2008's right now and it normally takes them a longer time to retool. To switch the lines over in the auto industry it might require a day or it might require a week or month.
From what was seen in New Mexico there are still changes to some of the machines to be made as well as the initial literature given to the dealers.
I know that I've already had several discussions with customers about new equipment coming out for next years purchases.

It was nice to see my thread did not disappear.

I hope Kubuta and all tractor heavy equipment manufactures realize my comments are meant to be constructive, both as a end user and design engineer by profession.

I would suggest that guidelines as to release of product info be supplied at dealer meetings by the organizers.

I believe Kubota would be doing themeselves well if they directly participated in these forums, not necessarily responding to every quibble, but more to give official responses to legitimate concerns.

Oh, yes it was. You took it as an imperative.

Simple. Sometimes the reason a thread was pulled is not up to a moderator or an administrator to reveal or explain.

Since Neil has explained why, it's a moot point.
