So why did you buy a Mahindra?

When I shopped for a full capability tractor in late 2005 I was looking for a heavy 60-70 HP open station tractor with strong loader and backhoe, skid steer QA, 2 or more speed PTO, high delivery hydraulics, remotes, etc. I found at the time that regardless of price it was going to be difficult to find all things together - the difficult ones being hyd delivery, weight, and multisp PTO. And with price coming into consideration the issue of a "special" was out. The 7520 4wd fit the wish list perfectly as a package deal, letting me get it all with canopy, grill guard, and toothbar for $37K. To date I still havnt seen another 7100 pound tractor with 17gpm delivery in this HP range. I am carrying about a ton of water ballast in the 90% loaded AGs and have used the tractor hard, enuf times to know that it is strong, and wont require me to make excuses for it breaking itself. At 800+ Hrs it is going strong. The only issue is it has a broken reverse synchronizer on the shuttle shift. I just determined this lately stirring the manure pile. In retrospect the reverse shift grind was there from the beginning but I nearly always stopped completely before shuttleing so barely noticed. Oh well .. even if still in warranty I wouldnt want to have the tractor split solely to correct this in an otherwise perfect transmission.

im not a mahindra owner.but ive got a cousin that bought a new 65hp 2wd drive w/fel mahindra.an i know he likes the tractor.an from what ive seen it does everything he wants it todo.since he is very tight with money im sure he got a good deal on it.he stuck it in the winter of 2009,an i asked why didnt you get a 4x4 an he goes $2000 more.

There was not and still is not to the best of my knowledge any tractor in the 75HP class that specs out as well as the Mahindra 7520. That is why I bought my first Mahindra. Bought my 2ND smaller 3215 Mahindra because I like my Mahindra dealer and I needed a smaller tractor for clean up duty. :thumbsup:

If the paint keeps dieing on the 3215, it may be blue sometime in the future too. :thumbsup:

I am baffled why your paint is fading so fast. The Big RED Beast is still RED RED under the layer of dirt on her.:thumbsup:

Mine sure isnt. Fading fast - someday it will be green. Do you park yours under cover?

Well, the tractor itself is ok I guess, but the loader is turning not red and my Mahindra tractors are locked up inside at least 80% of the time. Don't know the answer as to how yours is still red and what seems to be an awful lot of others have turned or are turning PINK. And I only thought that I didn't like red, but I really don't like pink. :confused2:

It's the dirt. My wife has a sign hanging in the living room it says " Please don't touch the dust, it is protecting the furniture" I believe the sam applies here.

Same story on my Mahindra. Tractor's paint is holding up but the loader is fading a little.

cause its cheap with excellent fuel economy. it's good for raking hay ,digging post holes, gardening and bush hogging. it is just a basic tractor.i would rather have a deere or mccormick.

i have 2 5500 and 3325. 5500 about five years old only problem was when first started making cooking oil fuel didnt get all the lard out of used oil from local eating places used alot of fuel filters got that worked out no problems now it plows and plants with the bestof them in my book

No one likes a smart Alec, so I will forgo my first thought, "because the dealer wouldn't give me one".

I had never heard of Mahindra, and did not realize there was even a dealer for them right in my own back yard. Even though I'd been passing by the dealership several times a month. They sit back a ways from the main highway, and the chain link fence was obscuring the view of their tractors. Since then a newly installed display ramp will elevate the tractors above the fence.

I looked at Kubotas, which I had much experience with; however the salesman knew less about their tractors than I did. He could not answer basic questions, and seemed ill equipped for the position. I left the Kubota lot with a brochure or two, but not with the feeling I needed to spend so much for a tractor. Since then, the dealer has gone out of business, and I can see why. Good tractors, no dealer.

Next, I visited the New Holland lot. The saleslady, seemed frustrated by my questions, and came across as slightly less confused than the Kubota 'salesman'.

On to John Deere. Well, they do make wonderful machines for a wonderful price. But for the price of cup holders, and seat belt retractors, and a very limited warranty, I left the lot feeling a tractor was not in my future.

It must have been providence that caused me to look in the direction of the Mahindra dealer that day in 2005. My truck almost pulled itself into the lot with the shiny red tractors on display. I had made up my mind: You will sell me a tractor based on my needs. You will find out what those needs are, and point me to the model most suitable for the jobs at hand; and you will treat me the way you want to be treated: meaning you won't judge me by the way I am dressed, or the vehicle I drive. You will make me feel like I am the most important person whoever walked onto your lot.

My 2005, 2615 HST has been a dream machine. After over 420 hours of use - no major issues. The tractor has exceeded all expectations. I could have spent more for a green or orange tractor, but Mr. Red filled the bill, at the right price, and came from a dealer who really cares for the customer. I couldn't ask for more. Mitsubishi/Mahindra, a winning combination.
