If you would have bought that B7500 you probably would still have it. :D
Boone

Probably not...I went for the 790 to get enough PTO HP for a chipper. The 670 didn't have enough and it had more PTO HP the the B7500.
However, if had bought the B7500, I might be running a larger Kubota today instead of the 4400.

How about parts for a 30 or 40 year old riding mower? I got them for my Deere in a couple of days! That's what we mean about parts.

Rob

And you could have had them by 9 am the next day if you really wanted them.

Those mowers were great machines and many are still worth putting (expensive) parts into them....BUT

...The "riding mowers" Deere sells today are not near the quailty they were then...and any young couple etc...that buys one and has problems with it or are not satisfied with it will remember... then, down the road when that same "young couple" buys some land out in the country and finds they could use a tractor... they will remember the "Deere" name in a less than a favorable light...

in the same respect...Deere loyalty will remain in existing families but the market for first time buyers belongs to the most machine for the best price...be it green,orange,red,blue... it is leveling the playing field for developing new brand loyalty...

I do my own repair work on my tractors. Once in about 1992 I was working on a Kubota B2150, and it took 8 1/2 weeks to get a fuel injector. Another time, hydraulic filters were on backorder. My business was theirs to lose.

Now my tractors are Deere. I have yet to order a part I can't order on the spot or next day if I need it bad enough to pay shipping. Some of these tractors are 22 years old. I can't imagine depending on a 15 year old kubota to work a crop (unless I had a backup for sure)

I'm just a little bit red white and blue too. I still own one old Kubota tractor. But talking trucks and tractors, I like the fact that Ford never took a government bailout, and John Deere is the last man standing of all the great american tractor makers. All the rest folded or took a handout. My business is now theirs to lose.

I don't know about the riding mowers. I'm sure there are mowers at the chain outlets that are below standard but my ztrac 445 is excellent with no problems to date and it cuts the lawn like a carpet. My nephew came over and couldn't believe it.

My son bought a "consumer" version JD from a big box store last year, and I ran it some. My advice is stay way from those versions. JD still makes some very good mowers, none of which you will find at Lowe's or Home Depot.

yes to get a JD mower you have to go to JD dealership, those consumer models are not John Deere's. Never turned a bolt on my 737 ztr.

They're not?

They are JD green and say John Deere on them.

Can't you buy the same Deere mowers at the Deere dealer?

All our main tractors are 10-30 years old and these days i see very little difference in parts availability between the ones i use , MF,NH,JD,IH,CAT. I think IH would seem to have the most "on the shelf" but MF have improved enormously last few years and can get IH baler parts cheaper off MF than IH .
