Soft cab

Question for any Original Cab owners - can the safety glass windshield end electric wiper be added in at any time later if desired?

It could be added later on the cab we got for the Cub Cadet 3000 series where I used to work. The hard window frame just dropped in to replace the soft one.

Good to know - thank you. I figure I'll see how I like it without to save some $.

Hate to ask a dumb question, but is a soft cab or hard cab deemed better??? Guess I am asking about the advantages or cons of both. I also have a JD300 FEL on my 3005. Would that interfere with a cab?.

The biggest advantage to soft cab that I see is price. I can get an Original Tractor Cab for $800 where a hard cab would start around $3,000. Also, I only want a cab for the winter months so the OTC soft cab looks pretty easy to switch on and off for winter. I think some hard cabs offer ROPS protection, but that's not a need of mine since my ROPS can stay on with the soft cab.

As far as protection, adding heat and A/C, the hard cab would be better. However, in cases like mine, the soft cab is better, not even considering the 3x or 4x cost difference. I need to remove mine in the summer so I can lower the ROPS for mowing. It takes a couple of hours to remove or reinstall the cab. I take advantage of the installation process in the fall to pull the floorboard, etc and clean everything, lube the driveshaft, etc.

The cab really doesn't change loader operation. It doesn't interfere with anything or cut off visibility.

I have a cozy cab, it is my first cab and it is hard sided. I never thought I would want a cab but found a deal on Craig's list that was hard to pass up. Now I would miss it if I had to do without. I have since added heat, lights, and a wiper. My friend went with a soft cab and no heat or wiper around the same time and I almost feel guilty seeing him struggle trying to see out of the soft windows and foging up. He has made a hole to stick a window brush through so he can see. He takes his off in summer I don't I just remove my doors and I still have shade. His is not a exact fit for his tractor it was modified to fit from a different make but it's pretty close. Have you considered a hard cab with soft door s.

I've been to the website and even called them. For my tc30 and related models they won't sell directly. Have to order through new holland.

Here's a couple pics of an OTC cab I purchased from NH this year for my TC33D - I think your TC30 may take a different model cab. OTC was willing to sell direct to me but it would have cost an additional $100 for shipping - if you buy it from NH shipping is free to their dealer. It cost nearly $1600 with tax which seems a bit pricy but it appears well made and was a good fit with no drilling or other mods to the tractor. Glass windshield and manual wiper were standard. It went on easy with only myself and I plan to take it off in the spring and put it back on in the fall. I have 2 gripes - the mounting brackets for the top need to be a little more adjustable and I'll deal with that in the spring - also some of the attachment points use tie on ribbons in places that are difficult to get to - I'll probably go to tie wraps next fall. It's not air tight but is a huge improvement not sitting out in the wind. If a strong wind blows snow from the blower back on the cab some will find it's way in but not enough to cause a problem. I think a rearview mirror - possibly inside the cab - would be handy. I wish I would have gotten the cab 13 years ago when I bought the tractor.

Nice looking blower. That fan must shoot the snow into the next zipcode.

Have you checked into how much it would be for a comparable LS tractor cab from them. If I'm not mistaken that's who makes the TC 30 New Holland.
