Stabil.... All that Stable?

I'm a Seafoam addict as well.... beats using tools and carb cleaner to eradicate gum and gunk inside the carbs left over from Obama ethanol.

I tend to put it in and run the bejesus out of the engine to blow everything out the exhaust.

I use the stuff on the cars too.

For season storage, I would put $10,000 on black at Foxwood (Stabil) vs Red for seafoam...

Sorry, seafoam is not even close.

I repair atvs for a side job, 80% of my work comes bad gas plugging up carbs. seafoam is great imo in preventing build up. Also it does a great job in cleaning out gummed up carbs. My own personal atv had a plugged up main jet it would idle but not switch off of the idle jet with out it cutting out. I ran some seafoam though the tank let it idle for 30mins and no more problem. Saved me from having to tear the plastics off and pull the carb apart for a cleaning. I try not to use stable my grand father used it and cursed it, every 2stroke weed eater we put it in required a carb rebuild every spring.

I too used Sta-Bil until I learned what more Sea Foam can do. Yes Sea Foam is more expensive but so is a dirt fuel system.

I have used Stabil for many years. I put it in my gas can for the lawn tractor and ATV. I also use it in 2-cycle fuel. I never have a problem with starting my 25 year old Stihl chainsaw or my 15 year old White lawn tractor. Or my 20 year old Honda ATV. All these engines are used seasonally and have always worked fine even after sitting idle for months. I do know that Stabil has a shelf life. I had a bottle that got shoved to the back of the storage cabinet in the garage. I think it must have been two or three years old. It had some black or brown looking flakes in it. There was not much left so I disposed of it rather than chance using it.

While I prefer Stabil as a fuel stabilizer, I also use Seafoam on occasion. I think it is good for cleaning fuel systems. Either product is much better than leaving untreated fuel in idle machinery for very long.

I would never bet in that race because I agree. Seafoam is great for cleaning carbon and gooey carbs and injection but not for storage.

I use seafoam as a 'tuneup' for cleaning injectors and fuel systems. as well.

Went shopping today and picked up Marine Stable and Sea Foam... the Sea Foam was $7.95 a can on sale.

Never used either of the products, bought only because of what I read here on TBN

Note, the marine Stabil has a definitive shelf life (has a place on the back label to mark the opening date for reference).....

I found that interesting in itself.

You'll like both products I believe.

Briggs and Stratton also markets a fuel stabilizer that's relabeled Stabil.

Haven't opened the bottle yet...

Started having fuel related problems this spring.

My 1938 Bantam wouldn't start... was running great when I put it away last fall... full tank of fuel and locked it up in the car trailer...

Turns out the fuel had water in it...

Don't even want to think about all the problems I might be facing with over 50 vehicles and many small engines I have...

And so did the original stabil...No issue when using the marine stabil in gas engine since the corn fuel junk...Keep carb bowls clean.
