I'm going to go look at the manual for the Anderson trailer that I just bought. It seems inappropriate to me for a trailer manufacturer to build a trailer capable of handling 6000 lbs plus of cargo and make their stake pockets only able to support a 5400 lb WLL.
Further... In my mind, this reinforced the idea of using stake pocket D-Rings instead of attaching directly to the pockets. If a significant weight shift occurs, chaining direct to the pockets can (and likely WILL) deform your pockets because of the strain that will be put on them. And, apparently, that's why so many of the used trailers I was looking at had bent pockets.
