Starlink

Having trouble with my mesh unit continuously dropping out, so I unpaired it for now. Router been working ok without the mesh.

How far is the mesh node from the router? How many walls between? What kind of material is wall?

Just put my $99 down. Hopefully, it will not be too long before they "expand".

Floor below the router, and worked well there for several months. Normal plywood subfloor and drywall ceiling. Just recently started acting up. I had to reboot Starlink again today.
I’ve done a couple factory resets on the mesh, might do it on the base router.

My mesh mode came las week. I need to put an outlet in the attic on the master side of the house and get it hooked up

Late to this thread. Sorry if its been said but can anyone speak about their business account with Starlink and how that is performing for them? I am considering changing from ViaSat business to Starlink business. I see that is available now in my area (remote). Thanks.

Business account is $2500 for equipment plus $250 a month for service. I could get it now, but too rich for my blood.

Yeah its pricey. I pay $175 a month for ViaSat Business now and its capped at 75G before the speed slows down. Even so, the fastest it gets is 30Mbps. Though Starlink is $250 a month, its worth it if I can get faster speeds and not be capped at 75G total data. I work remote so its an necessary expense to be able to work from home. Now I use my cellphone hotspot for Teams meetings because I cannot always count on ViaSat. So I would gladly pay the extra for a really usable ISP. Not sure Starlink is that though - so anybody that has experience with the Starlink Business internet I would like to hear about their experience.

I don't miss Teams meeting. All meetings are a PITA, online meeting just make it worse. I just retired, so no more of that for me.
We have a small LLC for the farm and will sell products and produce online, but not in enough quantity and certainly not as a means of survival to make the expense worthwhile. Heck, if it meant they would send it in the next few weeks, I'd pay the 2500, just keep the lower service and monthly $$ of residential.

Well that is another thought I had. Residential isnt even available here for me. I had paid the $99 bucks a couple years ago and never heard anything from them so I cancelled it a couple months back. I recently saw the Starlink Business was available here so that is what got me considering it again.

I've used standard Starlink for full time WFH (two people) since right about the time SL left beta (right about 2 years now). It has been more than adequate from a speed, function and stability point of view. Unless you have significant bandwidth needs (i.e. frequent large data transfers, etc.) I can't see how the business plan gives you anything notable above standard.

I am on Teams/Zoom/WebEx meetings for hours a day. VOIP, video streaming during meetings, etc. Full IT type datacenter interactions over VPN. My company VPN stays connected for weeks at a time. No video or audio drop-outs.
