Do you have a wired ethernet connection to each Deco node?

No. But the Deco units do backhaul over a separate frequency so it doesn't affect wifi speeds. I have three of them spread evenly through the house. The main one on one end, hooked to Starlink, the second in the middle connects to that one, then the third connects to the second.

Is the router separate from the receiver?

Yes. The Starlink controller box - the piece that connects to and controls the dish and provides PoE power - is one unit. It has an ethernet output. That's what goes to the Starlink router. You can instead connect that to any other router.
