OK cool. Now for the rest of the story. Was the PTO switch defective or out of adjustment? Or did you just forget it was engaged?. Cmon we really want to know.

It must of been bumped, getting in or out.

Thanks for the reply. It really helps us help others to know what the failure mode was.It must of been bumped, getting in or out.

we have an 2800 manual with same problem. Giggle the wires above the starter solenoid, make sure u are in neutral on range, pto off, and u are sitting in the seat and try starting again. Always put the range in neutral and stay sitting in the seat when u turn off engine.
If starter problem with HTS it is the front back pedal safety that does not make contact with the relay. the relay is under slightly on the left of the ignition switch, push the relay module down (it is loose) and it will make the contact.

hi new member here also.in my past experiences with starter solenoids if you can start it by using a screwdriver by touching the two poles together and you dont have a fuse in there in the middle then your solenoid is most likely the culprit.rather than just throwing a new solenoid on it pull the starter/solenoid together and take it to the local electric place that rebuilds starters and alternators hope this helps.

That sounds backwards. If the solenoid works when you cross the terminals but not with the key it's a switch or wiring or safety problem. Maybe I missed your meaning?

Look at the threads talking about the low voltage relay kit, it may be high contact resistance from all the interlock switches. Had similar problem with my G2160.
