Kubota 2410
Hi everyone. New member. I have a Kubota 2410. A couple weeks ago I went out to start it and nothing happened. I thought it was the battery ,bought a new one, still nothing, then I did the screw driver over the terminals of the starter solenoid, and the starter turned over. So I thought it was the starter solenoid, so I replaced the solenoid. I put a screw driver in the safety switch, because I read on one of the forums that someone said to try that. I even pulled it off, and checked it with an ohm meter, it checked out good. I even took out the starter key module, and checked the ohms between terminals.
I hate to bother people before turkey day. I hate the thought of carrying wood from the barn to the house, when it's zero degree and six inches of snow. :dance1:
I hope someone has any ideas.

Is there a relay that the key switch energizes that switches power to the starter solenoid? There usually is. Do you have a circuit diagram? What about fuses in the starter solenoid circuit? Without a diagram or understanding of how the circuit works, it is pretty hard to diagnose. On the key switch when you turn it to the start position, what color of wire is energized? where does it go from there? just keep on chasing it..We know that the starter solenoid is not energized to pull up, so why not? you have to figure out what is in the middle.

If you can jump it with a screwdriver I would say you have pretty much narrowed it to the ign switch or the wire from the switch to the solenoid. Shortcut fix would be a loop of wire from batt post of solenoid back to the trigger terminal with a push button switch in the middle, make it long enough to reach the dash area.

Are we sure there is not a starter relay?

I dont have a wireing diagram in front of me but a solenoid is not a high load draw that would normally need a relay.
Some have talked about a add on relay that deere puts on theres to correct a low voltage prob .

The only ones I have are Kioti's and they sure have relays. That is why we need his diagram.

The wire on a kubota b8200 goes from switch thru clutch saftey switch to starter.

Thats the only tractor I have a schematic for.

Aren't there three safety switches (Neutral gear, pto, and seat) ?

Could be , we dont have the wire diag. For his model.

I do not know if there is a relay for switch. I will try to get a wiring diagram.

I don't know if there is a starter relay. Do you know where they would put it?

I will check that PTO switch.

You have seat switch, pto, clutch, hst peddle, fuse box, and a main fuse. Also check for good connections of the bat. leads, on the - check at frame and the + at the starter. If you want to turn it over just take a small jumper wire, hook one end to battery and the other end to the solenoid after you unhook the wire coming from the dash.

Please dont stand between the tires when shorting across the starter.

My dad was starting a car in a parking lot by jumping across the solenoid and when it started it was in gear, luckily it was in reverse altho it wasn't lucky for the car parked across the road. The gearshift was in park but the shift cable broke in "r" thats why it didnt start.

My 2630 had a total of 5 "neutral" and seat switches. Anyone of which, if not engaged prevented starting. That's the first place I'd look.

Thank you.
It was the PTO safety switch.
