I have a 2516 Mahindra. Tried to start it nothing. After a further look I discovered the starter is turning backwards. Any suggestions as to why and how to correct?
Need more info such as, was it running fine before and then suddenly won't start? How do you know it is running backwards?
Im guessing there has been a perceptual error on rotation. The lack of engagement is likely a mechanical issue in the starter solenoid.Yes it had been running no problem. No problems. Hadn't replaced anything such as battery. Took starter off and two different friends helped me check it to discover it was spinning backwards.
Benxisdrive of starter faulty and slipping !
THIS,
or just stuck on the shaft , try tapping in in an outward direction and see if it will loosen up.
Did you make it to the 4th post? :New battery has post backwards to original ones, battery connected backwards causing starter to run backwards. Hope you haven't damaged the charging system.
