Starting my generator this winter shud be easier

I've sprayed ether in tractors with oil bath breathers on them and they will crank. The suction from the engine will suck the ether in regardless of air filter etc.

I think you are doing more then spraying tractors with that ether if you are driving your generator behind a 18 wheeler, try to focus on generators and not looking for a fight, you are not making yourself look smart by trying to make us look stupid .

I find it hard to believe there is an engine of any sort out there without an air filter on it is what I am saying, never mentioned anyone being stupid, you said that. Where did I say I was driving my generator behind an 18 wheeler? You tell me to focus on generators and your talking about snow blowers.

I've only ever owned one walk behind snow blower and it did have an air filter. If they don't now then that is my mistake and sorry if I offended you or anyone else. To me if they don't have an air filter then they are just sucking snow in the intake and we know what snow turns into when melted and that can't be good for an engine. Just my thought on it.

I've had 3 snow blowers. Two 5 HP and one 8HP, no air filter elements on any of them, just a metal shroud.

Snowmobiles also don't have "filters" of any sort. Or none that I've owned anyway. Best case, they have a large mesh screen to keep the mice out, but my mountain sleds don't even have any sort of foam. Again, it's winter... Not much dust to worry about. No bugs, not that they'd hurt anything... And a little blowing snow goes right on through without hurting anything. It's just "humidity" to an engine. :)

I learned something new today. I apologize for my ignorance.

I worked on a Honda outboard motor without an air filter. I guess they figured there wasn't much dust on the water.

My mountain sled draws the air from behind the windshield, through a piece of foam...that keeps the snow out...

I like the name change! Null. Why didn't I think of that?

I already said I learned something new and I apologize for my ignorance. We don't have much snow here. Never been on a snowmobile. Only had one snow blower and it had an air filter. I have a boat, it's a 14' Jon boat and it has no engine. It does have a motor, trolling motor. I haven't worked on a boat engine, didn't think about them not having an air filter. I just assumed every engine had one since every engine I've ever worked on had one. I was wrong. I admit it. Engines run on some sort of fuel, motors run on electricity. Put that in your coffee this morning and ponder on it.

Any sleds I've had since the early 90's had a similar setup.
Some of the my older 70-80's sleds may have been open carbs
