Hi all, getting to get some work done in the garage after being away from it for a two week period. Got the outlets in on the lower part of the walls, insulation up on the lower part of the walls. And got up into the attic for the 1st time since the sheet rock was put up. Thats a diffrent site, now I am not scared to be up there. I guess it is becasue you do not feel up so high even though you are.

Tomorrow I am going to run the ceiling lights and the outside lights. I am hoping to start to put up the 7/16 osb late tomorrow on the lower walls.

I order my garage door 18x8 with 4 window lights on the top, while I was at it and spending money like no tomorrow I also order the basement garage door that my tactor took out this fall. (thats why the new garage).

On the plus side the sun was out today and we were above 32 for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks. Maybe 45 tomorrow and it is much easier to heat the garage now.

I am almost seeing the end of the tunnel now.

Roger

If you have a few more windows it might be easier to see that light :D

mo poly: funny you mention more window, ever since I boxed in what was not concrete I have been thinking more windows. I added windows to the top row of panels to the garage doors. I am hoping this will bring in more light. To the most part I have 1 concrete wall that is at least 5 to 6 feet tall and 2 walls that are 8ft, so no room for windows there. So before I put the siding I have some more thinking.

On another subject I am glad I never built my home, I would never get it finished because of 2nd guessing myself.

catch ya later, heading out to work on the wiring, nothing like a good work out in the garage to make you sleep like a baby.

roger my other garage door opener arrived yesterday. I will get it installed this weekend then probably put further work on finishing on hold. I have three rental houses that are empty and I need to work on them. My wife has pointed out how much that is costing me versus how much I need to finish the garage. But it is dried in. garage doors on and by this weekend both openers installed I have lights and power. Feels nice to drive up to the house and push a button and get in. I have not installed my windows yet. I put my siding in place where they go. I am going to spray paint the siding then cut out my window openings and install the windows. That will save me from having to work around them.

Been a while since I posted any thing. Only working in the evening when I can, work has picked up a lot even the weekends.

A mile stone though in the garage work. Ceiling lights are in, All the plug ins on the lower part of the wall are hot and working with switches working the ceiling lights its makes it feel like it is geting closer.

Then maybe most important. I have internet connection in the garage, I am typing this out in the garage now I feel connected.

Doors will be here Monday and installed I hope by Wed.

I will post some photos of the mess this evening. Back to work.

Probably to late but as far as electric goes (just my opinion) I like to use EMT for my feeders and branch circuits. This way "IF" you ever want to change anything you can do it fairly easy. I did read that you wanted all outlets behind the wall but I find on the surface makes everything more accessible. I also know that I will change something down the road so this is why I do it this way.

Just my thoughts

lynkage: Not sure what Emt is? I am going to screw my osb on to the walls that way if I have to get to the wire I do not tear up any thing. Not a perfect fit but might be handy.

got to love internet in the garage and wireless too.

Actually if I am going to run conduit I prefer PVC it is a lot easier for a non electrician to work with.
