You could run the sensor vertical.

That way it'll only sense you if you walk through the front bumper of the car...

Roger,
My garage doors have sensors on them that are made to watch for animals or whatever under the door of the garage. I put them up high enough that the back of the vehicle will block them. If my car is not up far enough the door wont close.

I am getting closer to getting this garage done. Fri. poured parking pad. Sat. hooked up drain line from east side of garage and tied to the house line. Cleaned up 4 months or trash from all the work. Got up some of the sofit.
Fri another 18x25 pour for the drive. Next week the last pour 30x18. I am going to try to find the vinyl siding to match the house and work on it this weekend.

I am now wonder what I will do after I am finished. Oh yea play in it.

Roger

Opps I just figured out a promblem every time a broke the beam walking by it, it would flash hum neat but not going to work I guess. Any ideas.

2 of three pours. 3rd and last pour tomorrow at 9:30.

Things started fine. Then the cement came fast and hard. And the fun beagin.

Last 2 photos show the spacing for rebar and for the next pour. And the flair out for the entrance.

Next step siding and guttering. Then landscaping.

Garage 1 show my gutter I got up today. Heired it out because it is seamless.

Garage 2. showing the finished garage: I do not think I want to do more concrete any time soon,
2 yard for patio.
8 yard for parking pad
7.50 yard for middle pad (drive is 80x 16 faned at the pad)
8.50 yard for the last pad
14 yards for footing
8 yard walls
7+ for floor

total of 55 yards x 82 per yard. 4,510 dollars plus 1,000 buck for brother in law to help with it all.

Not bad for 5500 I thought.
Siding and landscaping tomorrow.

Roger

quick question;

I am going to buy siding just checking to see if I am rignt.

To get the amount of siding at the peak of front and back of the garage which is a triangle do you take the height times width then divide by 2. I know a person should know this but when spending money I want to be sure.

thanks

Roger,

Nice progress.

What siding are you using? Sorry if you mentioned it earlier, but I don't remember.

If it's James Hardie lap siding, they have a calculator on there website for how much material you need for the number of square feet you are covering.

On peaks, you have to figure out the square footage of that area, then add about 20 percent for waste because of the cuts you need to make at the ends.

Usually I buy extra so I have it on hand and then take back what I don't use. It's allot easier then not having enough and having to go and get more.

Thanks for such a great thread.

Thanks Eidde:

I am going to use vinyl siding but only have about 6.50 squares. Most of the sides and back are inground. And the front has a 18 x 9 door in it.

Never have put on vinyl but have folks that can give me tips. I know not to nail tight on the sideing and stop short of the doors and windows etc.

Having trouble matching the brick of the house. Tan to light brown. I guess I will have to order it.

Thanks
