It can takes years, I'm retired.:cool2:
I clearly have the welding bug ... caught myself drooling looking at your cache of welding supplies.
Cheers!

I had one of our welders David, weld with a Lincoln's standard fleet weld rods and he stated the machine is capable of doing it just dialing it in is the most important part. I took some photos of the weld, which he says he is not proud of, but something that will show it works and is doable.
His settings were 75amps, DCEP, and he did a root and cover on A36 Hot Rolled 1/4' plate

If you wish to speak with him, please give us a call within the next hour. He will also be in tomorrow to discuss.
Thanks Simon. I just figured a way to measure the voltage while I'm welding: cell phone video!LONGEVITYsimon said:Dan! Thanks for calling in and I hope David was able to help you out. His extension is 208 if you need to call back. Also, he mentioned the key point is to keep a very tight arc length so the arc does not go out and you maximize your arc stability!
He will be in tomorrow, and we look forward to seeing what else you need.
Thank you! I do get lucky every once in awhile.Shield arc: very nice very nice tie in, I here a helicopter coming in to land on it !!
Have you tried any 6011?
