You might find a mapp gas torch that will work. I have no experience with them but they are supposed to burn hotter than propane. Just don't know if one is available to heat that much area that fast.

You are correct. Taking too long to get the bushing area hot will just transfer heat to the pin and gain nothing.

Using a maul is like using a tack hammer. I tried a 20 ton press on a 1 inch shaft frozen in a cast iron hub without success. The rust had expanded the pin in the bore. You're trying the same with a larger shaft. You need more force or relieve the pressure by burning out the pin.

1... put the dipper against something solid.
2... get a 200 pound chunk of iron, hang it, use it like a battering ram against the pin. Something will give.

The worst part is the pin had flat iron welded on both ends. I had to cut one end off just to see what i was dealing with. I think I'm going to weld something bigger to the pin to provide a bigger surface area. I'm gonna get one of those torches as well.

heat up the pin and bushing area hot enough to get a toilet wax ring or candle to melt and wick into and thru the whole bushing and pin. might have to build a small wood or and charcoal fire on a shovel to heat the area. hotter the better. then let wax wick in there and let cool to touch. beat pin out. might have to repeat. use bbq chimney also instead of shovel. use what u have.

MAPP gas is definitely somewhat hotter than propane, but that hoe bucket pin area is a massive amount of metal to heat.
MAPP with any of those small tank torch heads, would not make any real difference.
As mentioned in a previous post on this thread, Oxy/Acetylene with a rosebud tip is the way to go.

In the 3rd picture, it looks like a indentation for a grease zerk. With the hoe extended out, bucket in proper position, indentation cleaned, zerk removed, and as much dirt/crud removed as possible, would be an excellent well for the Bee's Wax/candle wax, paraffin, to sweat in around that pin, from the center out.

You will likely need REAL heat as well as the jackhammer.
