Stuck, really stuck

I’ve gotten stuck lots of times before (and the folks kubota on the farm in my youth). Having the backhoe to let me shimmy has made me get too bold. This time I right truly screwed up

Maybe try fastening non winch side of truck to a hearty tree with chain, run winch cable to tractor using at least one snatch block to increase your mechanical advantage of winch. In the meantime cut a few trees down cutting them up and placing in front, behind or both tractor wheels depending which way is best to get it out, of your tractors tires so if you can get it to move tires will get on something more solid. Maybe put them under loader bucket so you can lift front axle to get wood under front tire maybe same with using backhoe lift bucket put wood under it and see if it will lift rear axle. To further put wood under rear tires. My old tph backhoe could lift the rear axle. I've been stuck more than I care to remember in mud and snow, Plus I towed vehicles for a few yrs. Hiring a heavy wrecker would probably cost you a lot of cash. My final long winded response is making sure what ever you end up hooking chains and winch to is a solid hard point that can take the stress. Good luck

When I was a teenager a neighbor called asking for help because he got his old Ford pickup stuck in a mudhole. It has a snow blade on the front that was buried up to the hood. He backed his class A motorhome up to it, attached a chain to the bumpers and had my older brother hop in the truck. He said, "when I start pulling just put your foot to the floor". He started pulling, my brother put his foot to the floor, and the one side of the truck bumper detached and turned 90 degrees to the back of the truck just as the truck got unstuck and moved backwards faster than the motorhome was moving. The bumper speared right through the back of the motorhome into the bathroom and shower. Me and his wife watched the whole thing just mesmerized. He got out of his motorhome, walked around to the back and said, "well, we got that sumbitch out".

Had to do this last week when I high-centered the skidsteer...

Took two chains - one to curl and the other to anchor while I uncurled and reset the chain.

Slow but steady won the day.

I have become a huge fan of these traction pads. They really do help to keep the tire from being sucked back the mud hole once the initial suction is broke. They also work amazing for being stuck on ice. Highly recommend.

I have an old Case 580CK. It's a two wheel drive machine. I have gotten it stuck plenty good several times and I was always able to get it out using the hoe and the front bucket. One thing that really helped was lifting the rear wheels free of the ground and then shifting the machine sideways using the hoe. Then setting the rear wheels on better ground. Then push with the hoe and pull with the bucket. Rinse and repeat until the machine was completely free.

Does that truck have some kind of anchoring system, so it doesn't just pull itself toward the stuck vehicle?

It does, but I've never used it. It'd be easier to hook the front winch or a strap to something, like one of the 16,000-lb. Unimogs.

Besides, with good tires and weighing some 40,000 lbs. it can surely pull quite a bit before starting to move. Haven't reached that point yet.

I think someone posted a story last year about someone getting caught in a pole chained to a tire and getting beat to death. Gruesome way to go.

My mistake... the pole caught traction, the tractor flipped over in the mud and crushed him.

Have we even seen pics of the OP's predicament? How do we even know he is stuck without pictures? I low-key enjoy seeing pics of people hopelessly stuck. Not because I revel in their misfortune, but it just blows my mind the situations people put themselves/get into.

I've had it happen. Driving ~ 8' from a tree stump on my B7610. Soft muddy soil, I was about three inches deep in spring mud. Front wheel dropped between two major tree roots (3 or more inches thick). Weight spread the roots apart as it was going down. Couldn't pull it forward or back or up. Ended up cutting one tree root (under at least 3" of mud) jacking it up and putting a plank under it. Fun times.

And for everyone else waiting on pictures. The rain came through Sunday and fortunately I managed to backfill the spring I dug on Saturday so it didn’t go submarine. In fact it looks like the rain managed to wash out most of the soft stuff.

My wife got down today to check on it - I will have to wait until Saturday to get the winch and snatchblocks down…
