Nice job documenting how hard it is to get stumps out with a dozer. My dozer is a little bigger than yours, and I rarely mess with stumps with it.

When I come across a stump, I give it one try with my dozer. If it doesn't pop out, I leave it and use th backhoe.

A dozer does an amazing job on what it's inteded for, but stump removal is not one of those things it's any good at.

My D3 operators manual has 2 pages on stump removal.

I've had good luck using my ripper first to break-up the soil and roots and then pushing while lifting with the dozer blade.

A dozer is a bit more effective than my 5245 ballasted with a 1 yard dirt bucket, and a chain attached to the top link mount to pull it on the rear wheels and jerk it with the 3pt...
I think my bounce safety valve wont like it either... anyways it works for 2 stumps... )</font>
I hope you don't flip that thing. Always attach bellow the axel.

Hey Dude,

Where you been so long? Long time no hear anythin'. How's that BX23 doin' diggin' in that serpentine? If you ever decide you don't really need that bh and downpressured auger any more, we can talk about a swap: BX23 in exchange for BX2200 and cash.
