Stupid people with loud motorcycles

Wife and i were at an intersection when two harleys came up behind me. Out of no where they "reved" up the bikes. Scared the bejesus out of me not expecting it.

Well, I let them pass, get behind them at the next light .

Have a Flowmaster on the truck, so it is louder than normal.

Well, while beind them, with all three of us stopped, put the truck in neutral and "floor it".

Should of seen them jump!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also had a Glock 20 with 5/15 round mags with me, so "bikers" don't scare me as easily.

( I had a Harley with straight pipes pass me on I-20 last week. The driver was wearing ear plugs! )

I believe it. At the risk of sounding likle a wimp, a loud Harley puts my ears over the pain threshhold.

This thread is begining to take on a nasty tone, not at all unlike a load motorcycle on a quiet night. Noise is no different when it's someone spewing personal insults, revving a loud motorcycle when they shouldn't, or just saying things to agitate others.

It's all about respect for others. (Or the present-day lack there-of)

You will never get everyone to get along, just part of life.

It's interesting that it has taken this tone. As a Harley rider, I cant immagine myself owning anything else. However,I too cannot stand walking down Main St. in Daytona(or any other rally) listening to the drunk ...?... bikers reving it to the moon. There is a line between a good tone and noise.So again, you will alway run into fools. Just happens to be sport bike riders here in my town...

I've worn the plugs before also. Not for the pipes, but for the wind noise. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

As for the reving at lights,,, I think that is foolish. A lot of the newer Harleys are FI (fuel injected), and even the carb ones do not need to be "cracked" open.

I would never shoot anyone for having a loud motorcycle.

Fact is I scared the bejesus out of those two bikers in front of me when I "reved" my truck motor up right behind them.

Don't think they liked the fact that I was laughing, but hey, if they were rude enough (or just trying to be "macho") by doing behind me, right back at them.

After doing so, I prepared for the fact that there may be a possibility that they might of gotten off thier bikes and approach my vehicle.

From that point (if they would of gotten off thier bikes) there are a couple of "scenerios" that could of played out.

Just being prepared for those scenerios.

Let me change somthing I was mistaken on. I accidently hit the gas pedal, but luckily the clutch was engaged. The motorcyclists who were physically bigger than myself, having mulitple tatoo's (sp?) and in general looking like some badbutts got off thier bikes in an agressive manner and headed towards my vehicle.

90 rounds of ammo is "overkill" /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Happen to have about 20 of those magazines (had to stock up while you can).

FBI stastistics (for what thats worth) show that most "gun fights" go no more than three rounds.

"Make em count" so to speak.

The 20 is my "truck" and "woods" sidearm. 10mm is a great round, have 220 grain bullets that I've clocked over 1100 FPS and some "lighter loads" that will go much faster. Sort of like having 15 rounds in one sidearm that has a "bigger punch" than a .357 (more on the lines of a .41 magnum). The .40 is just a neck down version (sp?) of the 10mm. In fact, the 10mm was orignally spec'ed out for the FBI but "recoil" issues was probably it's demise (the Glock I own had it's grip reduced in size, shoot about 100 rounds a week with it, and I find it very managable and very accurate).

Wonderful pistol cartridge "to work with" so to speak.

I was wrong for "reving" my engine behind those bikers.

Fact is, due to my actions, IF by chance somthing were to happen, my actions could of been held agaisnt me in a court of law.

But...honestly, the guys seem to be bumbutts for "reving" VERY LOUD no more than 3' behind me at a stop light. Was uncalled for.

Just wanted to give them a "taste of thier own medicine" so to speak.

If you do carry a sidearm, you should always be aware of your surroundings and "plan what can happen" if by chance you need to use it (for one, line of fire, other people in the vicinity and surroundings...)

Where did you get the 15 round mags? I have been trying to find a couple for my 21 but ever since they have been made illegal to sell to anyone other then officers or military you can't find them. Even the gun shows don't have much glock items around here.
