My other neigbors do not shoot and we don't shoot near the house because of our animals. Also, as I said I do not want to bother my other neighbors and become an idiot neighbor to them like this guy is to me. Winter is almost here so I expect the bike to go away for a while. And the way these people are they will most likely burn their house down before spring.

They will learn soon that their neighbors don't appreciate how they act when my friend tears out the driveway they took over and blocks off the staging area so they can't park on it any longer. Of course they will be wondering what got into him to be so rude to them /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Drive off?

Yes, drive off is one possibility if that option is available.

What if you don't have that option (traffic behind, in front and on the side of you?).

Lock your doors of course would be the logical step.

Only point (or issue) is that there are some people in this world that have no fear of thier actions or what may happen to them if they act on thier (sp?) own impulse.

People get hurt by other people who don't mind the law. As you get older, hopefully you get "wiser", but, again, there are thirty to sixty year old people with the mentality of school children. I've carried a gun for personal protection for over ten years now, and not once have had to draw it out of my holster for any reason other than being at the range. I hope to "keep that record" as long as I live (plus the fact that I don't even want to think what the legal expenses would be incured in my defense in a court of law /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

If we could live in a society without crime, it would be a wonderful thing.

If there was that much traffic, I think it would be unlikely that two people would try to break into my vehicle...

Maybe in your case. My truck is 10 years old and has manual door locks. By the time I locked my door, unbuckled my seat belt, put the truck in park, climbed over the car seat and reached the other door lock, those two guys would have had time to do an oil change and rotate my tires! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Unfortunately for you, if you didn't try to flee first (in most states) before defending yourself, you are right: you would be the one trying to defend yourself.

You would be in a court of law even if you tried to flee. ANYTIME a "civillian" (sp?) uses a firearm and a injury/death occurs expect to be in a court of law.

In N.C, if an intruder is actually in your house, you must first try to "evacuate" the premises. The only "legal right" you have if you kill the intruder is if you shoot him "while he is trying to break into the home". Not word for word, but close to the contex of meaning.

Can't carry a firearm in an establishment that serves alcohol.
" " on school premises
" " federal property
" " in a gathering that charges an
admission fee
Ect....

Numerous laws that vary state by state on when/where/why you can carry/use a firearm.

Per a discussion here before, there are various "classes" that have a "different degree of quality" of training.

Right, I guess my point was you better try to drive away, lock your doors, whatever, before you go and shoot someone.

( Maybe, but I think Fred's point is (at least mine is and I won't try to answer for Fred) is that it's one thing to be prepared; it's another to be prepared and act differently than if you were not... (i.e. looking for trouble) )

Yeah, that's what I meant. As long as it doesn't change the way a person carries themself then it's fine to be prepared, whether it's a concealed weapon, a blackbelt degree or a folded up C note /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

Now.... forgetting even for a split second that you're packin' /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, that opens up a whole nuther can of worms. Just kiddin' Sig, maybe.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( Need to vent a little. I have always had an issue with loud motorcycles.)

I have an issue with loud. To me, it is an invasion of my privacy. That being said, a story...

A few weeks ago, we attend an open house for a small airpark. I live on the road not 1/2 mile a way from the place.
All types of people there. Nice crowd. Harleys, Speed bikes, go-carts, ultra-lights, real planes...etc. etc. Nice time.

This person zooms by on the road, doing a wheely and in excess of 60mph, Way over. Loud. Does it a couple of times.
Wow, not very safe. Loud, drawing attention to himself.
Next thing I hear is so and so is out of here... "we don't need that"..."apologized to land-owners"... "will not do it again..."
"we don't tolerate that sort of behavior..."

How refreshing to know one is not in a minority.

Your not alone. It really is a respect thingy.
