Sigarms,

Ya need to get a diesel truck! Then you would not have had to wait for them motorcicle dudes to get in front of ya. Instead, after they made all that noise and made you jump, all you had to do was put you foot into the throttle at the green light. That would have given them a bath in black smoke. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have only done this a couple of times though. Once to convertable that was zig and zagging in traffic and to bikes who get it when I have to pass them on dangerous back roads. Actually I'm too cheap to do it to often since these people are not worth the cost of the fuel. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't follow guns as close as I once did and as far as the NRA, I am a member but as you know they send you so much garbage trying to get more money from you that you tend to ignore most of their mail or at the very least glance over it.

I was thinking the same thing as I read this thread. Example: If the two bikers were indeed bigger than Sigarms, would he have gone out of his way to scare them if he hadn't been carrying? Maybe, but I think Fred's point is (at least mine is and I won't try to answer for Fred) is that it's one thing to be prepared; it's another to be prepared and act differently than if you were not... (i.e. looking for trouble)

Honestly, I would of acted the same way if I WERE NOT carrying a handgun.

It was my fault for "reacting" the way I did. I actually forgot at the split second that I did HAVE a side arm on my person. If I would of "remembered" at that "split second" when I "reved" my engine that my sideame was on my person, I would of knowingly done nothing.

Without thinking, if your going to be a ***** (sp?) head to me, I'm going to be the same to you. That is where I was wrong.

I'm in a truck, those two in question were on a "bike".

Weight advantage to me if I "wanted to do somthing with the truck" I could of, with or without a gun on my person.

Remember, they were in front of me. A vehicle is a weapon as well (particulary if you foe is on a "bike" or foot).

You're point is valid, and one that is brought up in a "good" CCW class.

I could be held liable if determined that I caused the "problem".

My actions would also not of been determined by the size of "persons" in question as well.

It is VERY easy to approach (sp?) a vehicle and if the door becomes "ajar" to do bodily harm to the person in question in the vehicle.

The "problem" is that in less than 3 seconds in determining the variables, lives could be at risk.

At that point, my life becomes the most "valuable".

Imagine this. Two people come up quick to your vehicle, your windows are closed, but doors unlocked. What do you do?

"Seconds" may depend on you life. Maybe, maybe not, but do you take the chance?

I'm not a very agressive person, like Sig I'll go out of my way to avoid confrontation when armed, and I'm always armed.
The type of person that acts otherwise doesn't last long usually.

Sigarms, he said he wanted good BBQ, and we all know that stuff the Western NC people eat is not good BBQ. He needs to go to Parkers in Wilson or Ron's Barn in Coats to get the absolute best NC BBQ.

That western stuff is just ketchup and sugar!

Bob, a fan of the great EASTERN NC BBQ

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

We have mixed NC BBQ, motorcicles and GUNS in one discussion!

THIS IS VERY BAD! Everyone should duck and run for cover. This is going to be worse than an Synthetic vs Dino Oil discussion! This is going to get as ugly as Fido's Fanny!

I for one will admit to liking both Eastern and Western NC BBQ. So I am neutral in this converation. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif PLEASE leave me out of the conflict!

Just to clarify, which is which? Vinigar based vs tomato based.. I never cared much for the vinigar based stuff. When I moved to Georgia, I had some folks rant and rave about how good this one place was. When we tried it, it was all we could do to not walk out after the first bite...Different strokes....... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Seems like you are well armed. I'd suggest a little target practice at about dawn would be good. Say a box or two. Make sure the weapon of choice has the loudest report. Let your other neighbors know, they may just join you in the targt parctice. Might have to use twelve guage shotguns to be safe, but then you could get real close to the property line.
