Super Bowl 2020

We where not planning on watching the game, but after having a fire on the porch and grilling chicken, we decided to turn it on to see what the score was. There was 5 minutes left in the game and Mahomes had the ball. So we watched and really enjoyed it.

Everyone on FB and the local news are going crazy interviewing all of Pat's friends and the kids that where on his HS team.

Seeing his dad and step moms posts on FB where a lot of fun. I'm really happy for them, they really are his biggest fans!!!

DishTV blocked all Atlanta Braves games this past year. They reported that MLB was demanding too much money. They apparently worked that out since Dish upped their monthly rates by $10 shortly thereafter. Now they've announced another price increase is coming. WHAT! They're already outrageously high.

Our cheapest work-around last year was to watch the Braves on Hulu for $45/month. Absurd price. Now I saw and ad from Fox last night that they were going to "offer" a Pay for View news service. Does that mean that public news is going away?

The way things are going TV is going to become unobtainable for all but the super-rich. Then its the 'mushroom' scenario for most of us.

Unfortunately It’s already that way. You just have to pay to get News. The only Free News is what the powers who control the media put out.

In the new Information Age it’s more difficult than ever to sort out the truth.

I watched the Super Bowl, muted! No sound whole game, didn't watch the commercials, did email during half-time. Enjoyed seeing KC win but if I was a betting man I would have bet in the 49ers.

I saw the ATM's were quite busy this morning so I'm guessing a lot of idiots thought SF would win. Go Cheifs

Oosik, We don't have satellie or cable, just old fashioned OTA (over the air broadcast). We get around 40 channels from the Spokane area... Sometimes I wish we had ESPN2 so we could watch the Gonzaga mens basketball games that are not broadcast.. but don't care enough to pay monthly..

Hope you enjoyed the game.. we had it on except at halftime (watched local news then)..

I've tried OTA antennas out here for TV. No joy. There must be a mountain, or something, between us and the broadcast stations in Spokane. Maybe just very tall pine trees-?? Actually it was a rather "ho-hum" game until the last half of the 4th quarter. JMHO - you didn't miss a thing by not watching the halftime.

I haven't missed more than two or three Bulldog games in the last five years. With the many, many ESPN channels I get - I can track them most anywhere.

Not me, I had a lot of confidence in KC. The 49ers collapsed in the 2nd half against Seattle (in SF) in the first game and would have collapsed in the 2nd half against Seattle in the 2nd game (in Seattle) if it was not for a delay of game penalty. 49ers are chokers.

The game was decided by the PI call involving Travis Kelce when KC was trailing by 10. That penalty completely changed the momentum from SF to KC.
Although it was not a bad call, it decided the game. Just like the non call versus NO last year.
PI penalty is too stiff. Ball goes from 28 to the 1 foot line with a first down. Come on, that is too much.
I think there should be some sort of flagrant PI, or incidental PI calls, just like roughing or running into the kicker or the facemask call.
Incidental call would be 10 yards or 5 yards and a 1st down. Flagrant would be spot foul and 1st down like it is now.
That seems more reasonable.

Yes it was oosik . . . I agree, the halftime show was well, stupid.

It was not even close to being incidental and was the right call. The SF player didn't even turn around to make a play for the ball he just jumped right into Kelce's face with his back to the ball. Did we watch the same game? SF needed to finish the game and in typical fashion they got lazy. You don't do that against the Chiefs. Go Chiefs.

Ah, yeah we watched the same game. Did you read my post? I did not say it was incidental. I said it changed the momentum of the game.
Then I said I think the penalty for PI is too stiff and it needs to be changed.
That goes for all PI, not just that incident.
Football has evolved over the years. Everything does not have to stay the same.
People used to think it was ok to penalize a punt blocker for running into or roughing the kicker the same way. Now there’s 2 levels. People used to think there was one way to penalize a facemask. Now there 2 levels.
Football PI is very much under scrutiny. It needs to be changed.

That penalty isn't why SF lost.

Not what I said.
I said it changed the momentum of the game. The momentum change came at the end and that decided the game.
Momentum swings occur throughout football games.

I agree, it did change the momentum. But in my opinion, and I'm a hardcore Chiefs fan since I actually live here, SF has no one to blame but their coaching staff. It was theirs to win. They blew it and the Chiefs in typical fashion capitalized on their mistakes and laziness. You cant ever count Mahomes and his crew out. SF thought they had it in the bag, they should have finished it.

You are correct. My Eagles won 3 years ago defeating the evil empire Patriots.
Anyone who counts the Chiefs out needs to watch the 0-28 comeback against Houston.

I guess the way I feel is like the biggest play of that game was a play involving a “death blow” penalty. That PI call had singularly the biggest impact of the game.

The momentum changed when SF relaxed. Not the officials fault. Not the rules fault. Not even the crappy halftime entertainments fault. SF's fault.

You are kidding right?

No,,,, you probably aren't..... :confused3:

Yeah I guess when you call PI at the biggest moment of the game on the #2 defense in the NFL, it meant nothing....

/ Super Bowl 2020 #60
:laughing:So Chiefs down in the 4th quarter, back against the wall, had to score on that drive and that wasn’t the biggest play of the game?
A play that also had a PI penalty in it? :confused3:
Too many beers consumed:laughing:
I was pulling for the Chiefs the whole game. Andy Reid was the Eagles coach for a long time. Everyone in Philly pulling for him. As much as I hate penalties having that much impact on the game, I wanted the Chiefs to win.
