Super UDT - Not UDT

Bird, I drove up there a few years out of high school, back in 1978. Went from Sacramento, CA to Alaska by way of New Mexico. Took the entire summer to travel and see the West. Even with a summer of time, its amazing how much is out there and how much more there is to see. Went back up in 1984 and then again in 1998 and rafted 100 miles down a river up north of Dillingham out to the Bearing Sea. I fished and drank with 6 other guys. Climbed to the base of Mt. McKinley and walked around the glaciers. Its a great place to go, but even Alaska gets crowded so you have to plan the time of year you go. My favorite is September, October. Learned to fly in a Cessna 150 and 152. Rat...

You can get the numbers from any heavy equipment marketing company. The numbers are basically meaningless data because they seldom tell which tractors are contained in which grouping and every tractor manufacturer lists the data in their best light. You will get different numbers if you request the information from John Deere or Kubota, or Massey Ferguson or Kioti or...

Many dealers have a copy they will show you if they like what it shows....

Thanks again Dale. I am not sure how to post the pointer to the message, but maybe someone can do it so the topic will be cohesive. I hope to have some additonal information on the subject today. I asked my dealer about it after getting 17 1/2 gallons of UDT. He called and said to bring it back and they would exchange it for super UDT. Still have been unable to confirm the previous message someone posted stating that it was synthetic. I could believe a synthetic blend.

Mark, did you ever get any information back from Amsoil about the Super UDT formulation or whether it was part synthetic formulation?

The formulation and data off the Super UDT seem to tell all the story that we are going to get on Super UDT. My dealer exchanged the 17 1/2 gallons of UDT for Super UDT and that is what I am going to use.

I was really amazed that it is rated as better for both high and low temperatures by the manufacturer. I don't see the low, but the high temp shows up regularly in North Texas.

I still do not know whether Kubota's come from the factory with UDT or Super UDT.

Well, drained the oil and hydraulic fluid tonight. Took sample bottles of both for analysis. Geeze, the hydraulic fluid is slick stuff. I thought it would be very clear, but it has a distinct amber color or a little darker. Wonder how much of that come from the brakes being in the hydraulic fluid? Looks a lot like a light engine oil rather than a clear liquid.

Wen - Be careful fooling around with hydraulic oil. I knew a fellow once who broke his middle finger, threw his thumb out of joint and severely bruised his ring finger when he tried to snap his fingers with hydraulic oil on them. Of course, in his case is was synthetic, so your injuries might not be so severe. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
